    Pros

Great company to work for, with access to highly skilled professionals. Great work life balance culture and flexibility arrangement.

    Cons

If you are not ready to work in a fast-paced organization, slightly underresourced, and changing regularly its way of operating, AIG is not for you.

I worked at AIG full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Opportunity for those who are liked by senior management. Ability to move between divisions and geographies also.

    Cons

Very much an old boys club, typical however of the insurance industry as a whole.

    Advice to Management

Take care of employees and they'll take care of the rest.

I worked at AIG part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The pace of work is fairly slow.

    Cons

Poor culture and uncaring management. Manager lacks ability to understand subordinate needs and issues. A lot of people seem to have complaints about one thing or another. There is too much politics happening in the company, yet no one dares to speak up, mainly because the manager is also involved. A lot of trust issues.

    Advice to Management

It is recommended that the management should have less arrogance, and learn to balance the needs of the company and also learn to listen to what the rest of the team are saying. Communication requires some empathy and being able to listen without subordinates having to feel judged or scared. It is borderline toxic, especially when manager is unable to take constructive criticism from others. Therefore, people would... rather avoid conflict with the manager, rather than being honest or speaking up about anything..
