Pros

Great as an initial job to work on multiple different types of projects to gain as much knowledge as possible

Cons

With a small company comes the need to fill multiple buckets at once and be tasked with many different responsibilities

Pros

Collaborative, small you get to be exposed to all the roles

Cons

It's small so you might find a person that guides you through the projects other than the senior engineers

Pros

Coworkers are pretty friendly, very casual work environment if that's your thing

Cons

Despite appearances of a relaxed and casual place, I have never been so stressed. Unrealistic deadlines constantly, everything is rush rush rush no matter what it is and you are on the hook for mismanaged projects. You also mostly have to figure things out on your own because no one seems to help. Quality is not a priority compared to hitting deadlines. It's really a top down problem, if you don't have an eye for what makes a good project manager you can't hire one, and that trickles all the way down. Some of the engineers are great and probably can't be paid enough here. Some managers have never been engineers and so you are constantly explaining to them what you are doing and how long it will take (which puts more pressure on you). The way they do engineering processes is just terrible, and I have learned so much more in a brief stint at another much larger company. There is little room to grow your knowledge and skills because you have to worry about being. It was just a bad experience.

Thank you for being transparent and open with your experience at Amped I. This feedback is very concerning to us as we would not want this type of work situation for any of our employees. We take this input seriously and will work with our Client Success Team to ensure that our employees have appropriate workload and support for a healthy work environment. If you would like to expand more on your experience, we would welcome a conversation. Thank you so much.
