Pros

The morning started off with loud chants within the group, goals for the day, key things to remember when successfully completing a sale, and a vibrant manager giving a motivating speech for the day. That was pretty much the best part of the job. The people were cool, office was always playing music.

Cons

The job is definitely not for everyone, including me. Its a door to door sale job sometimes (at events or shops) and your are basically working as a fundraiser to raise money for a certain charity. Although it is for a good cause, the pay was under minimum wage if you didn't have any sales for the day, and you'd be out from 12 till the sun goes down, even later if you still were pushing for at least one sale. At the end of the day, the work to pay ratio wasn't worth it to me. Probably why there was such high turnover there. However, there were a few people that did well, but majority did about 1-2 sometimes 3 sales a day if sales were made.

Pros

You're marketing charities to help earn donations to help kids and others in need.

Cons

I worked for one of the APPCO marketing companies called in the United States called AIP. They have different names in different cities but they essentially all do the same thing. Apparently they are super common in England and in Europe in general. My job was to go solicit donations from people going into places like Old Navy, Walmart and libraries in their free speech zones. You're base pay is awful, the conditions you are put through are worse (especially in super hot climates like Arizona) and the promotion structure is a freaking joke. Nobody makes a great deal of money except for the 'President' or 'Owner', who earns huge amounts of money based on the profits of their team. This company has all of the stench of a pyramid scheme, without the actual having to pay into the company to acquire the product.

Pros

*Brainwashing does help with getting a bit better perspective on life *Pretty receptionists *Alcohol on Sundays. But pay for yourself. *Occasional parties *Gets you into the Business mindset rather than the mindset of a desperate job seeker. *No degree/work experience required

Cons

*Unentical 'Business Associates'. Lie to customers/donors for their money. *Extensive working hours. *You may be allowed sick leaves on paper. But if you do take them, you'll never hear the end of it. *Causes fatigue, not just tiredness. *Subtly discourages any non-appco related self-education, reading books etc. *Brainwashes you to think that the non-Appco world is quite miserable while it's actually the other way around. *I don't think Business Associates realize how serious the English words they accidentally use while conversing with the customers/donors are. *Extensive working hours. 7:45AM to 8PM+ *No public holidays or weekends. *Politics amongst Business Associates can mess you up when no senior wants to train you.
