It's a pretty toxic company culture in the office. It feels like there is a lot of resentment and a lot of people dislike eachother . The most toxic people are the ones that have been there the longest
"Work hard play hard" seems to be the corporate motto you hear often - there is a lot of "work hard" but those that "play hard" pull the least amount of weight. The company's idea of "play" is very tied to alcohol as a reward
while it is advertised as "unlimited vacation" there is more to it. It is at the discretion of your manager and people absolutely notice and judge if they notice you are always away. Also, some people take 6 weeks off because they have nicer managers while others only get approved for 2 because that is how much their manager thinks they should get, no matter how many years they have worked there. You do not get compensated for time not used since they "do not track it". They should just have a vacation policy then it is clear and more fair for all employees
The company does not seem to do consistent cost of living adjustments (at least, not a consistent one company wide which is not fair. Some groups recieved this while others are told there are wage freezes)
It is a regular occurrence to find groups understaffed and lacking in adequate training by management - new hires are thrown in and expected to run with it and figure it out. Turn over seems to be fairly regular in particular groups
This company also has a very strong drinking culture and many of the staff events revolve around alcohol as the main theme
Seriously, everyone seems miserable - do not be fooled by a charming salesman and their pitch of what an amazing company it is. Do some further investigation if considering working here. Layoffs have happened a number of times while company wide town halls boast that financials are consistently amazing
