Pros

Abalta is small but it's comprised of very diverse and highly intelligent people. Everyone gets along surprisingly well. Projects can be challenging at times but management maintains a good work-life balance and I rarely find myself working the weekends - when I do it's usually by personal choice. There are plenty of opportunities to learn and grow within Abalta. It's a great place to work.

Cons

Projects can get off to a rocky start. However, I am optimistic that as the experience level of the engineers and project managers continues to increase this problem will be resolved in time.

Pros

With small teams, you can potentially have a lot of impact on the projects you work on. There is a very relaxed office culture. San Diego is a great location!

Cons

The compensation is not as competitive with large companies.

If you like the feel of a small company, it can feel cozy & a more relaxed environment

Cons

Because it is a small company & "relaxed" environment people come & go as they please. Its very difficult to reach people for support that are not in the office or responding. Management comes in after 1-2 pm everyday, & not available during normal office hours. No room for growth. Management says they have an open door policy, but when issued are brought up, you are ignored. Favoritism is prominently displayed. People that have worked hard, have ended up leaving because of management.
