Pros

I have worked at Abtech for about 3 years. Employees are friendly. The managers are knowledgeable and have been with the company more than 20 years. Good training and communication. They have the standard benefits. Vacation, medical, dental, 401K, etc. Every Friday is treat day. I've had the opportunity to learn new things.

Cons

The work is complicated and very detailed. There is no room for errors. If you are not detail oriented, this may not be a good fit for you.

Pros

Good people to work with, direct management cares about your growth and impact on projects. Friday snacks are a decent social team building weekly ritual Lots of projects You'll find yourself losing track of time with how busy you'll be sometimes Office politics are fairly nonexistent at a lateral level, only applies to upper management. Coworkers fairly open with each other, no performance creep.

Cons

Lack of direction with how services are developed No standard operating procedure established, its all hearsay and word of mouth Nonexistent documentation on clients or internal processes Internal network is a ball of spaghetti Driven by sales, not by quality of service Upper management has fingers in each other's pies Your work is tracked by the minute, if you don't track it, you will be reprimanded and possibly receive a reduction in pay. Things that should be fixed normally can't due to time constraint or client not wanting to pay for the fix. Frustratingly messy and inefficient networks. Company history is shady

Thank you for your post. Thanks to modern technology it's possible for some employees to work remotely. However, telecommuting is still fairly new. Your view of the company as a telecommuter may be very different from another employee working in one of the company locations. Working remote is not for everyone. It's easy to not feel fully integrated with the other employees and feel a bit lonely. There is a lot of activity that goes on at the corporate office that you may not be aware of. That said, like any successful company, Abtech values various types of lead generation. If you haven't done so already please make an appointment with your manager to share your ideas.
