Small, Collegial Work Environment
Pros
After contracting with AcceptU for about a year, they brought me on full-time. I am really enjoying the small company culture (about a dozen full-time employees). I work remotely full-time which has lended to great work-life balance. Because the company is so small, I enjoy a variety of duties from one-on-one counseling with prospective students, writing for the blog, managing a group of contractors, traveling, marketing and more. It is nice to be able to see the impact that I make with the work I do, which was a nice change after working on a college campus for many years. The company feels like a family of really strong, smart and fun people that I enjoy working with every day. Upper management really cares and values the work we do, and they make sure we know it!
Cons
Working remotely and for such a small company probably isn't for everyone, although its a great fit for me. The work is cyclical and during the Autumn/Winter months it can get pretty hectic.
