Pros

Great welcome pack, great tech, they will buy everything for you (including Grammarly Subscriptions). The lowest-level staff are lovely, incredibly welcoming and fun to collaborative with. Easy application with interviews that were incredibly memorable and fun to attend. There are chances to progress and switch roles if you see an interest you want to explore. There are no other positives.

Cons

Over the 6 months, the place has slowly gone downhill. I gave the company over a year of my time and effort and sadly I will never get that back. Accredible is everything but Incredible. Accredible breathes the world 'Culture' you cannot go a week without them mentioning the culture, but it is very ironic that the fantastic work culture that the company prides itself on, is well and truly rotten to the core. The company has employed some rather questionable management, who have sparked multiple departures from within the teams that they manage, Many of the departing staff have been given a really vague but obviously made-up reason by management such as "they left due to the company being remote working, they miss office based environments", which is hilarious considering everyone who applies and is accepted is aware that it is a remote role, and those who have left have been here long enough to either adapt and like it or leave much sooner than they did, plus they were all some of the most well known and high performing staff. Allegations of bullying within the Sales/Customer Success Teams via zoom meetings and on Slack lead to a large rumour mill flooding the rest of the company and quickly causing an atmosphere company-wide, with the catalyst for everything being certain members of management and the behaviour they are displaying to other staff (causing staff to speak out about concerns which were perceived as bullying), the atmosphere is still awkward with everyone being really careful about what they say due to the regular monitoring of private conversations that is now in effect, so nobody feels like they can have a normal conversation without something being interpreted as malicious. I was sociable enough to speak to nearly everyone when they needed tech or work support and grew friendly, so upon leaving early this year I spoke to some who left recently (not kidding a slew of Account Managers, Success/Outcomes Managers and Sales Team left in the space of a couple weeks) and a running theme is that it was down to the management they had employed being incredibly hard to get along with or turning the behaviours of other department head's sour. There was even accounts of certain people who are still present now needing to stream their screen to that manager so they can watch exactly what it is they are doing as they do not trust their staff enough. Ex-colleagues that I have remained friendly with and congratulated on finding new employment have cited they have left the company for their own mental health, and it is purely down to the horrendous approach that their managers have taken to help them when they need support. Sadly you could bring in millions for the company or increase the NPS/onboarding times - but if you're not willing to sit around and sing 'Kumbaya' in a cult-like manner, you're gone. There is pretty much no notice period, if you hand your notice in the company see this as the ultimate betrayal and treat you like absolute garbage, so don't expect if you are lucky enough to find somewhere better to work, that you'll be sent off with a smile - I sadly wasn't, it was pretty much 'ok bye, you're dead to us now'. I spoke in the Pro's about career development and moving roles, but there is a famous example of a member of the Sales Team that was desperate to become an Account Manager, they would attend sales/account meetings, do all the necessary training etc and even be told that is sounds like a great idea for them to progress. But they sadly never promoted that person, it really emphasises the control the company has on what you are doing and also emphasises some of the empty promises that are promoted in the job specs/adverts. Please stop building the hopes up of someone progressing to something they are passionate about only to then remove the dangling carrot shortly after. Multiple staff are put onto Performance Reviews without prior warning or conversations about their work, it is almost as if it is a cookie-cutter way of the company trying to push you out of the door, which I am sure falls under the Constructive Dismissal route. Also, for a company that prides itself on giving their staff the latest and greatest tech, the tool itself (Accredible) is seriously lacking behind the competition, all our 'Camp-fire' staff meetings regularly lead to us playing 'how many times are they going to compare us to the competition?' which we have all managed to learn are leaps and bounds ahead of us in terms of features and usability. One of the biggest cons that I will leave this note on is that Accredible promises the world and barely supplies the moon, including a yearly company retreat which has never happened (at least in the year and a half I was there - covid aside, management still flew across the globe to meet), and other incredible sounding perks and job responsibilities that never saw the light of day.

Dear Former Employee, We take every opportunity to learn from our current and former employees. Although we appreciate your rich feedback, we feel we need to point out that which is opinion versus that which is fact. Culture. Career Pathing. Mental Health. Culture. The timing of your feedback regarding culture is uncanny. Recently, Accredible was awarded the Inc. Best Workplaces 2023 award. This prestigious award was only presented to 10 California-based companies within our sector this year; we are humbled beyond words to be one of those 10. This award is 100% culture-based. We were honored for our thriving culture, incredible benefits, employee well-being, and employee growth. Additional points per Inc.’s data: -94% of Accredible’s employees are highly engaged -95% of Accredible employees feel valued for their efforts -Top word used while researching Accredible: “Supportive” -94% of senior leaders value people as their most important resource at Accredible Career Pathing. We have an excellent career pathing program called Grow. Every position within the organization has a clear path defined accordingly. Additionally, leadership meets with each and every people manager quarterly for check-ins and additional coaching. Mental Health. In May of this year, we highlighted the importance of mental health. Not only do we offer services such as EH/EAP and access to the likes of Meditopia and YuLife, we also offer (4) weeks sick pay, (7) weeks PTO, flexible hours, and we have a personal leave of absence up to (30) days. We have heavily invested in mental health across the board. In addition, we consistently measure aspects of culture, career pathing, and mental health via anonymous pulse surveys. Training. For training, we certainly have room to improve - as does every company. Not only do we have a 4-week onboarding process, we also offer every employee 2 hours per week to learn anything they like - with budget. In our humble opinion, we are off to a pretty good start in this regard. Accredible Tool. Regarding the Accredible platform, not only are we the world’s largest issuer of digital credentials, we beg to differ that we are behind the competition for the following reasons: -Accredible was once again named the leader in Digital Credential Management for G2's Winter 2023 reports! In addition to leading our category by more than 15 points, Accredible was also named the Leader for Small-Business Users, earned the Best Relationship Award for our category, and took the title of Easiest to Do Business With for Small Businesses. -All G2 awards are based on independent user feedback. See what our users have to say here: https://lnkd.in/eR9-yzsc. Bullying. We have not received a single complaint regarding bullying in the workplace. Additionally, as noted in our Employee Handbook: -Bullying is in violation of the company’s workplace policies against unlawful discrimination and harassment. -All staff, and Accredible, can be held liable for acts of bullying. Attrition. Questionable Management. Attrition. With an industry average of a 15% voluntary turnover rate, we feel we are doing fairly well at our current rate of 12%. Please note that we are aiming to lower this over due time. And we conduct exit interviews for those resigning from Accredible, to learn how we can continually improve. We should note that in the feedback from such exit surveys, management is rarely mentioned as a reason for departure. Questionable management. Your statements are merely subjective and therefore, it is difficult to provide a qualitative or quantitative response. However, as you know, we have a very robust hiring process and do our best to vet for our culture-first environment. Notice Period. As with any employee who chooses to leave voluntarily, Accredible always pays U.K.-based employees 30 days subsequent to the date of the resignation note whether gardening time is exercised or not. Therefore, we are confused as to what you mean by “no notice period.” Performance Reviews/PIPs. We know that our employees are committed to doing great work, but there may be occasions when corrective action is needed. Unless the acts are egregious, unethical behavior, or unlawful, there is indeed a 4-step process which starts with counseling and verbal notification; this step in itself is the “prior warning.” That being said, there is an Appeals process available to all employees. Company Retreat. As a reminder, as mentioned in every monthly All Hands meetings, the company retreat was contingent on Accredible closing our Series B. We are proud to say, this momentous event took place just recently; we are even more proud to fund considering the current economic climate. Anyhow, we are planning the company retreat as we speak. In the past, we have had the opportunity to meet in places such as Bali, San Francisco, and Wales.

Pros

A Paycheck (though low compared to most SaaS) PTO Remote work

Cons

As many have mentioned, the story they tell during interviews is not actually what they want. Most of the C Suite are micro managers. These said leaders also do a poor job of prioritizing (even though they have a robotic OKR process), and then gaslight others that they (the other employees) are not prioritizing. There is also clear favoritism going on. If you want to be a favorite, they love people who talk the most during meetings, are over the top fake, and "pretend" to work 10+ hours a day. The busier and more ragged you appear, the better! Also as others have mentioned, never push back, you will put a target on yourself as I've seen happen to several people here. Lastly, be on guard as they will cut you with no warning, which is something that happened just recently to two great people. If you like fake, micromanagey, and inefficient, this is your place!

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your experience at Accredible. As always, we truly value open and honest communication, and we appreciate the chance to address your concerns. We are concerned to hear you are troubled by our interview process, micro-management, prioritization, favoritism, and the perception of a negative work culture. We take these concerns, and all concerns, seriously. Micro-management is a delicate balance but we feel we give vast amounts of autonomy and empowerment to each and every employee. We want our Accredibles to feel trusted and be able to contribute their best work while receiving the necessary guidance and support from leadership. As you know, effective prioritization is crucial for success. We are continuously evaluating our OKR process. In fact, just today, in our All Hands meeting, we introduced a new, simpler, prioritization process that will more clearly outline what constitutes great individual performance at Accredible. What did you think of the new goal planning methodology? Favoritism is very subjective. Accredible is deliberately fostering an inclusive and fair environment where all employees have the opportunity to succeed. We do our best to ensure that recognition is based on merit and contribution, rather than personal biases. Regarding the ability to have a voice, it is discouraging to see you can voice your opinions here but not in the workplace. Open dialogue and transparency has been key to our past and future success. Accredible believes in constructive feedback, period. Speaking of constructive feedback, we welcome you to reach out to the SLT team or the People team to further discuss. If you have any suggestions on how you can help resolve the issues mentioned above, all the better. Respetively, Accredible Leadership

Pros

Thoughtful onboarding process. Friendly colleagues who are conscientious and enthusiastic about collaborating and sharing information. Respectful and polite communication among team members. International team.

Cons

Management keeps talking about encouraging diverse viewpoints, but in reality, things don't work that way. It's more like a "fit in or get out" situation. It's a shame that employees often don't realize the disconnect between what's advertised as desirable code of conduct and what management actually values until it's too late and they are on their way out. The company is way more hierarchical than it seems at first glance. The preferred communication style often has political undertones and is indirect rather than straightforward. If that's not your cup of tea, it's probably best to steer clear. The founders are still refining their management skills and it's understandable given that it's their first rodeo. Strategies may feel like they're straight out of the latest management bestseller. Reorgs and people leaving for reasons unexplained are also an issue. For a company putting so much emphasis on culture this is particularly disconcerting.

Dear Former Employee, We are pleased to hear that you had a positive onboarding experience and enjoyed working with friendly and collaborative colleagues. It is important to us that our team members feel respected and have a positive and supportive work environment. However, we are disappointed to hear about your concerns regarding the perceived disconnect between the company's advertised code of conduct and the actual working environment. We understand that there may be room for improvement in this area. Regarding your feedback on management style and communication, we acknowledge that different communication styles can exist within teams and that it may not align with everyone's preferences. Accredible is not for everyone. We encourage transparency, kindness, and professionalism; if these traits are considered “kumbaya” and subsequently fosters harmony, we feel this is actually a positive. Thank you for sharing your perspective and providing advice to our management team. We genuinely appreciate your feedback as it helps us identify areas where we may be able to improve. Respectfully, Accredible
