Pros

Company provides good benefits (health, 401k, life), a lot of food and the coworkers are great people.

Cons

The pay is HORRIBLE and when employees complain, the company provides weak answers or fires you. They pride themselves on their culture but HR and management has created the worst environment I have ever seen. Most people are miserable and are actively looking for another job. A lot of employees have part time jobs just to make ends meet. Management is always in a meeting of some sort and are never available. The employee reviews are horrible across the board with almost the same language in everyones review. You are constantly told to go above and beyond your job description for no compensation. There are no opportunities for promotions but the company likes to label lateral movements as a promotion, again providing no additional pay. There is an extremely high turn over rate. The dress code policy is outdated and ridiculous. My advice, wait for a better job to come around.

Pros

If you are currently working in the retail or restaurant industry and are in looking to make a lateral move in order to avoid working most nights and weekends then this may be a good fit for you.

Cons

Turnover is outrageously high. The culture is negative and unpleasant (one of the worst that I have ever seen). Employees are pressured to talk badly about each other by the executives and managers are bullied into giving negative feedback on reviews that is unwarranted. There are 5-6 HR people for a 100 person company- that should be your first red flag that this place has some serious issues.

Pros

Generally nice co-workers, lunches and snacks once in a while, good health benefits. Training regarding health insurance policies that can be useful for future employment. Managers are in meetings most of the time so you aren't really micromanaged.

Cons

Unrealistic expectations regarding attendance and workload. Managers do not listen or help if you say you are overwhelmed. Compensation does not match the huge amount of responsibility you are given. Managers are not trained properly in a reasonable amount of time to be useful to their departments. HR is absolutely awful and their actions are largely based on how they personally feel about you, not your work....including whether or not they allow you to use the benefits you are entitled to. HR is spiteful, angry and fake and will not hesitate to ask odd personal questions. They will say there is room for advancement, but in reality most moves are lateral and are celebrated as if they are promotions (I always found this very strange). If you are not an obnoxiously loud busy body don't expect to be actually promoted under any circumstances. I attempted several times to ask for additional communication training and development opportunities and was consistently turned down or put off.....they were willing to point out flaws of mine and always had great "ideas" to help me out but never did their part to realize them. In general, there is a "sneaky" feel around the office and information is kept from employees. In the last few years Action has transformed from a decent, professional place to work into one that is uncomfortable to even walk into.
