Pros

- Friendly colleagues - Lots of opportunities to challenge yourself and work on projects on your own - Good work life balance

Cons

- No structure, very informal and last minute verbal changes - Senior staff abusing their position, shutting down good ideas - "one man says all" type of management - Even the HR department is toxic, always hear petty fights - Get used to managers demeaning you P.S. This company always hire interns to do full-timer job and full-timer workload. Very high turn-over rates for all departments because senior managers very toxic.

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. We regret to hear about your experience at Activate. We value all our current and former employees’ feedback to help the company become a better place to work. We are working hard to build a great culture at Activate and improve processes and structures that will empower our people to be the best. We have been incorporating our company values, specifically “Innovation”, “Effective Communication”, “Progression”, and “Excellence” in our various communication and engagement plans. Our objective is for these values to be embedded in the everyday work that our employees do, including our interns. No academic experience is complete without a real-world stage for performance and results. At Activate, we treat our interns like full-time associates and assign them to actual and meaningful projects to extend their learning experiences that are not available in the classroom. Interns are paired with the more experienced staff during the internship period, who will guide and help the interns during their tenure with Activate. This internship experience builds character, tenacity and perseverance in overcoming challenges. We also constantly encourage employees to share their concerns and opinions with the management, as we believe that two-way communication will help facilitate the constant growth of both leaders and employees. This sense of authenticity can also help foster an inclusive environment. We take your feedback seriously as we believe in continuous improvement. Again, thanks for taking out the time to write a review. We wish you all the best in everything you do!

Pros

Nothing positive. They dont have any new clients or projects

Cons

No growth at all. Long working hours and at the end they fire you once job is done. Do not join if you looking for job security and work life balance.

Thank you for your feedback. We have ongoing and new projects and continue to hire based on their requirements. Partners from the recruitment search segment continue to contact us to offer their services as they notice our hiring. As technology evolves, despite our efforts to support our staff to reskill and upskill, some still face challenges transitioning and become undeployable. Hence, we continue to hire from the external market to meet the client’s requirements even though this adds to our operating costs. The cyclical nature of project work results in high and lull periods for all our staff involved in the project, this is inevitable for our industry. While we empathise with them when they must put in extra time and effort to meet project requirements, we are glad they also have opportunities to relax and recharge when their involvement winds down. Once again, thank you for your feedback.

Worst and most unreliable company to work with

Pros

Unfortunately now there is nothing left in this company

Cons

Management is totally blank, they hire you for some profile & then move you to some other profile with old technology and you do not have option to say no. You have to fight for survival daily. Top performance is no guarantee that your job is secure. They re-evaluate your submitted PE multiple times just to NOT give any appraisal or bonus. Employees are not treated as human. you are expected to work 24/7. Manager or top level bosses have free hand to handle things in unprofessional way and HR create policies to support them.

Thank you for your feedback. As an IT consultancy, we work based on our clients’ requirements. We are glad to have had the opportunity to work with newer technologies at times, we are equally happy that our clients entrust us with projects involving other technologies. When assembling a project team, we select members based on relevant skill sets and availability. While we try to accommodate staff’s preferences, they also need to understand that they cannot always choose the technologies they want to work on. As a performance-driven organisation, we measure our staff’s performance based on their ability to meet business objectives that are pre-determined and agreed upon between each staff and his/her manager at the beginning of each appraisal cycle. Besides the general economic conditions and the company’s performance, salary adjustments and performance bonuses for each staff are also determined by the staff’s performance against his/her pre-determined business objectives. Like many organisations, staff who meet or exceed performance targets are given salary adjustments and bonuses, whereas staff who do not may receive less or no increment and bonus. The cyclical nature of project works results in high and lull periods for all our staff involved in the project, this is inevitable for our industry. While we empathise with them when they must put in extra time and effort to meet project requirements, we are glad they also have opportunities to relax and recharge when their involvement winds down. Internal policies are reviewed from time to time to ensure relevancy and revised when necessary. Revisions could be due to changing operating environments, regulatory or clients’ requirements. E.g., some clients mandate their service providers to include only individuals with certain certifications to be put on their projects, even if this was not a requirement in the past. As a responsible service provider, we must comply with our clients' requirements and support our staff to acquire the needed certification to keep them relevant to the client. This necessitated us to update our internal policies to reflect the change in the operating environment. Once again, thank you for your feedback.
