Pros

Decent pay and benefits for Bakersfield Four weeks vacation Decent medical benefits If you prefer staying in Bakersfield and can overlook the issues Aera has then its probably a decent job to get

Cons

No longer an employee centric company. Your just a number and nothing more. Most of the management staff is completely inept at managing people. They can’t/won’t make the right decisions because they are too afraid what their manager will think about it. Even if the right decision would save the company money. The only people who get promoted are those that suck up and play the game. Doesn’t matter how well you do your job. During the layoffs last year they let go of a lot of good people while keeping people who are bad at their job because they were buddy buddy with their manager. Since then Aera is slowly siphoning off what good people they have left due to the complete lack of career growth, respect, and good management on all levels.

Pros

Good benefits and decent salaries. Aera was once a good company to work for, but when the going got tough, management decided to fend for themselves.

Cons

Baby boomers watch out. You will all be gone soon. WF and WM get the promotions. If you are an attractive WF in 30's you will go far if you want to play "the game". Sneaky and engages in borderline legal activities. Let the Hunger Games begin and may the odds be ever in your favor.
