Working with the few people who knew what they were doing.

This was not a hostile work environment in my experience, but it was a well-meaning, directionless, valueless environment that was full of compromises. That can be worse than an outright hostile environment. Half of Affinity’s employees’ jobs were to look busy, obfuscate priorities and delay projects so they would stay employed. It was impossible to get anything done, or bring in outside perspective of businesses who’ve solved similar business challenges.
