Pros

Fun, talented people work here! Enjoyed the camaraderie. The owner knows his craft very well and the websites they create are amazing.

Cons

A family owned company..................RUN!!!!! If you want to be micromanaged and stressed out, this is the place for you. The workload is very unrealistic. Has lots of turnover! 15 employees left in a one year period.

Pros

Pros? Not one pro.

Cons

Culture: people don’t communicate, don’t smile, don’t joke, and don’t support one another. If you laugh too often you must not have enough work to do. It’s very formal. The culture is forced not authentic. Employees are unhappy. Everyone is tense, employees are watched and whispered about constantly. You will often hear management badmouthing your co-workers and overhear negative conversations about you, but no one will talk to you directly about your performance or any issues, even if you ask. You are not treated like an individual. You are treated as a disposable. People in the office still cry and feel beaten down and deflated by management. The Boys Club: Women make up 80% of the office and 0% of management. They pass over qualified candidates for “not being memorable” which is another way to say they look homely. There is a constant level of disrespect for females in the office. Confident women are labeled as aggressive. Phrases like “put down the dagger” and “no need to get emotional” are said to female employees who defend the client, the work, or speak up about the sweatshop like conditions. Then there’s the mansplaining. So much of it. Men are regularly asked to step into conversations because “she doesn’t understand what I’m saying”. Basically if you have something important to say at AC, let a man say it. CEO: Emotionally reactive. The toxicity within the agency stems from the top. Frequent outburst and bad communication makes the agency feel like a war zone. Everybody is afraid of his outbursts, so they keep their heads low and try to stay out of his way. Be careful, he holds grudges. Often for things you didn’t know offended him. Rather than speaking directly to you about an issue (which would give you the chance to sort it out or defend yourself) he will jump to conclusions, talk behind your back, ask fellow employees to spy on you or interrogate them until they get Brendan Dassey’d and report on you negatively. He instills a culture of fear and blame. Employees often throw each other under the bus. It’s how the people who have lasted the longest here survive. Watch out. Management: they skip internal reviews and client meetings to vacation, take last minute personal appointments or take naps in their office. Then they step in at the last minute to provide “value”. And by value, we mean throw a wrench in the campaign and cause chaos that’s not in the best interest of the client, but only serves the purpose of stroking their own ego. There is no HR: No resource for employees. No buffer from management.

We are sorry your experience here has left you with a negative impression and wish you only the best. We disagree with a lot in this post. We do take constructive input and we diligently discuss and try to improve many aspects of the company. Changes take time and thought to be sure it meets all goals. We just rolled out an expanded PTO policy and have identified a generous holiday schedule for 2019. We partnered with ADP TotalSource, a PEO group, a few years ago that not only give us many resources in recruitment, HR support needs as well as great benefits to offer the staff. We don't hide behind them or blame them. We are a partner with them and with partners you collaborate and make the best decisions needed for the company and staff as a whole. As far as the comment about HR support, we have an onsite HR staff and ADP has an employee assistance number if you ever feel you need better support and it is listed on the home page of all staffs login screen. We view the staff as our most valuable asset. Additionally, we don't post employee reviews on Glassdoor. It is against the guidelines for Glassdoor and integrity is very important to Agency Creative. Thank you for your service to Agency Creative.

Pros

Taco Fridays Tacos mean it's Friday, and on Fridays you get to get away from this terrible place. The people The people that work here are really cool and down to earth. The people who manage them are not. The creative When the team is allowed to work and not given impossible timelines, the creative is pretty special and cool.

Cons

Oh boy, where do I start? The building Not the nicest building for a "Top Rated" ad agency in Dallas. It doesn't really cultivate the creative vibe, but it does resemble a prison. Small cells for solitary confinement, doors that require access cards, a rap sheet where you're required to document where you're going and how long you'll be gone every time leave (even for lunch), and a monitor that patrols the halls every few hours to make sure everyone is in their cell working. Management The number one reason you should run from this company is management! The CEO is controlling (more on that later), the President has no agency experience, and they treat employees like work horses. They expect a lot from the team, but do very little to set them up for success. They come in late, take vacation last minute, make up rules, change deadlines, cut timelines, short hours in proposals, and bow to the client's every need without consulting the people that are actually working on the projects. They basically expect you to work from 8:30am-11:00pm every day. Employees regularly work nights and weekends, and miss plans with friends and family. It's a sweat shop. They have created a culture where being overworked is expected and even celebrated. If employees leave on time or take lunch, they must not have enough work to do. The agency moto is "I own it". The question is who owns it? The answer is everyone, minus leadership. Management makes every decision, but they take no ownership when a project fails. Rest assure if a mistake is made, you alone will be at fault 100% of the time. I've seen people thrown under the bus and get ripped apart for something they didn't know about, and had nothing to do with. I've also seen them fire smart, good employees, without warning after giving them an impossible task list and no direction. Management will blame the turnover (and there has been a lot) on employee performance, "bad fits", and everything under the sun, but the simple fact is, they do not value their employees. They take young professionals, promise to give you a ton of experience, offer a low salary, and work you to the bone. You will get no help, and you will be disrespected, especially if you're a woman. This is a SMALL agency. Don't be fooled by the website, they only have 12 people on staff. The other faces are contractors, they do not work for Agency Creative. One of the employees currently listed on the site doesn't even work there anymore! Out of the 12, 5 of those people are in management. That means just 7 people are doing the work a team of 20 should be doing. In one year they went through 3 Creative Directors, fired 9 people, and 5 left. Most of those vacancies have not been filled, they just demand more and more from their current employees. Working here is like watching Game of Thrones, you never know who will get let go next. Don't get too attached to the characters you work with, they might get Red Wedding'd at the end of the next pay cycle. Seriously, there's a pattern. The culture The entire agency is run on fear. Fear that you could lose your job (they always happen at the end of a pay cycle) and fear of the CEO's wrath. He does not trust his employees and micromanages every project in every department of the agency. He is obsessed with making the agency seem like a large company and will do anything to please a client. I seriously don't know how they keep the lights on. The budgets are so tight and the team always ends up going over on hours, so they never make a profit. Almost all clients leave for one reason or another. This company is on a downward path, if you're considering a job here, run. If you work here, run. All the positive reviews on here are fake, they are written by management to make them look good. Believe me, it's not.

Thank you for your review. We take all reviews good or bad seriously and look at the content of the review on ways to improve. Although we feel there is a lot good at Agency Creative we know we need to improve constantly and there are areas that need immediate attention. Our most valuable asset at Agency Creative is the people. What we can immediately learn here is that we want to do even better in letting our team know that they are valuable and appreciated. We respectfully disagree with some of this review but we do find areas in the review that we will definitely put our attention to. Thank you for your feedback!
