Company Allows Bullying

Pros

Great Customer base, fun calls

Cons

During my time at Aira, ethical concerns were prevalent. Including the firing of an agent that mentioned unionizing. There were ethical concerns, discrepancies, and double standards among managers. When I reported my manager's no-show behavior to their superior, I began to face bullying, which escalated to unbearable when they learned I was open to other employment opportunities. Subsequently, my time-off requests following that were consistently denied, I received threats of termination, and my performance review was unfairly held to different standards compared to other managers. I was also denied my days off being told that I was salary and was expected to be at my desk whenever asked leading me to working 70+ hours a week. The expectation of 24/7 availability had a profound impact on my work-life balance, making it increasingly challenging to maintain personal well-being. I was having to drop appointments and plans last minute or "no longer be employed." This unreasonable demand contributed to a stressful and unsustainable work atmosphere. The abrupt imposition of a degree requirement and the inconsistency in time-off approvals added to the challenges. This sudden shift in requirements, coupled with unclear directives in the evaluation process, created uncertainty and hindered professional growth. Despite my managers superior saying that the degree would not be required my manager continued to state that I would be required to have a degree and that I would not be continuing at the company if I did not. There was also no reimbursement for tuition. The tools essential for my job were consistently broken, and communication channels for issue resolution were ineffective, exacerbating the difficulties faced in day-to-day operations. Leadership inconsistencies were further evident in a "kiss up and kick down" management style. The frequent no-shows by my manager for weekly appointments reflected a lack of respect for my time and contributed to a strained working relationship. I am not the first person that was treated this way. Two surveys were sent out to agents and employees and none of the issues brought up were addressed. Despite raising concerns, the company failed to address the pervasive issues, allowing a hostile work environment to persist. This lack of action and support further contributed to an unsustainable and challenging work atmosphere.

Pros

Somewhat flexible hours (You have to work a set minimum of hours per quarter and if there's plenty available, there's plenty to choose from. If there's only a few hours available, you're forced to work those and then still get yelled at if you didn't meet minimums -- even if the hours just weren't there). Can work from anywhere with reliable internet access.

Cons

Management is fake as can be. They act like they care, but all they care about is that they look good to their peers and that the company makes as much $$ as possible -- even at the expense of the employees or app users. Quarterly hour minimums even when the hours aren't there/open. I witnessed people get fired over not meeting minimums even when there were NO open hours to pick-up. Low pay (depending on where you're working from -- I'm in NY, so the $15/hr I was paid was crap).

Pros

Flexible work schedule Working from home is great Great job if you love helping people

Cons

Upper management will push you out when you start asking too many questions (ie. Why does no one ever receive a raise, will there ever be the option to not be 1099, why are we classed as 1099 employees) Claim to be disability/chronic illness friendly, but if you have to take time off because you're sick you can have your contract terminated for not meeting hour minimums.
