•Despite the plentiful 1* reviews HR at alpha are confused as to why people don’t like working here and why the turnover is so high.
•seniors have a real big issue with delegating MANAGEMENT jobs to analysts, so much so that we are expected to work like a senior with no pay and no title.
•please get rid of night shift, they have been in this company for 5+ years and do the least amount of work. They get paid more and do less. If anyone leaves a sample for them to process it’s all hell but they can leave HUNDREDS of samples for us with not a single comment from management. Sad as they are the reason the lab was shut down and didn’t pass the UCAS audit.
•faulty autoclave, faulty pipettes
•Monday-Friday isn’t a thing here they are only looking for Wednesday-Sunday, and who in their right mind would want to do that
•the lab absolutely stinks of rotten sewage and burns your nose to breath
•HR shocked everytime someone quits (this happens monthly), HR will then conduct leavers interviews to find out why, but do they change anything? No, and that’s why in three years we have had 2 mass resignations were we lost up to 60% off lab staff both times.
•it’s funny as management will wave a stack of 50+ CV’s in your face and say your replaceable, but yet they can’t keep new staff.
•the work load is crazy, there are three micro labs in the company with slough being the busiest, open 24 hours, the other labs cut off and know before hand the amount of samples they are getting whilst slough is literally a stampede.
• seniors are trained and paid more to train the new starters…. However with the sheer abundance of resignations we have all of the training is analyst to analyst.
• they talk a lot about progression, however you need to be working at the next level for over 6 months to then be thought of when it comes to progress, this isn’t a promise you will get the role, so you will most probably be working towards a promotion that won’t come.
•upper level management love to make empty promises to keep you here but they don’t change a thing.
•we don’t even get pizza days anymore, supposed to be every 3 months during a town hall meeting but it’s more like 1-2 times a year.
•the MANAGERS are not LEADERS but DICTATORS
•told multiple times If you don’t like it there’s the door please leave the company
•if you talk bad about the company there are ears everywhere and they will anonymously report you and you will have meetings.
•analysts on their feet all day get hot processing but the managers who are sat down at pcs all day say they are to cold so the temperature is always high in the lab.
