Where do I start?
First of all, all the reviews of individuals under 1 year of experience have yet to be thrown into the mix of things. Take this advice from someone who has spent 5+ years at the company and worked with upper management exclusively.
Salary: expect an average of $5-7 less an hour than industry standard. It took me about 5 years of fighting and negotiating to get to the low end of my industry average.
Training/support: almost non-existent. Onboarding for new employees consists of shadowing an individual for two weeks, then you're on your own. I'll include that the team is incredibly helpful and willing to teach. The issues
is the lack of support and willingness to train from upper management. Management is not even willing to spend $500/designer for proper GD&T training!!
Micromanagement: the owner of the company meddles in every little aspect of your job. Apparently being the president of a company means that they know better than you.
Misc: I'm convinced something shady is going on in terms of salary and work hours. Recently, all designers were forced into a salary pay structure. This is believed to be the case because many designers were working 60 hour weeks. However, the situation now is that everyone is working the same hours but paid a flat salary rate. From what I can find, this is questionable, as most salary employees are still entitled to overtime pay.
