Pros

The best thing of working in my location is that I can take time off anytime I need to.

Cons

Absolutely no upwards mobility. Unless you work in Anchorage or Huntsville. No educational benefits or real training available to move up.

Pros

Hands off management, remote work available, good training/HR/website to stay connected to company, even when working for another customer.

Cons

Probably gov't contractor-related, but no raises or bonuses over 5 yrs of work, other than a miniscule 1-2% "cost of living" increase.

Pros

Employee benefits, flexible hours, option to work from home, office & in the field, especially during COVID-19 pandemic. Fair compensation for State, and opportunity to further career. Emphasize importance for annual employee training in compliance with Corporate policy, State & Federal regulations. Will miss working with fellow team members, staff and management.

Cons

Unfortunately due to extenuating outside factors and circumstances beyond our control, Corporate decision to refocus growth on the Continental US.

Pros

Multiple training opportunities, open door policies with supervisors and managers.

Cons

Contract management assigns one admin to multiple branches (government sites) with different policies, procedures and branch heads instead of paying for one admin per branch, as would be the most efficient way. Quickly leads to burnout.

Pros

The workers are very warm, and are willing to celebrate the holidays and birthdays together during the work day. We found time to do potlucks, decorate the office, secret santa, etc. The pay was also very good, as compared to other places in the area. We recieved paid holidays and worked set times during the week.

Cons

There is no room for real growth in the company. I recieved no proper training, and found out afterwards that my peers were told not to help me when I had questions. Favoritism was also very obvious throughout the office--only the people in the "in crowd" were able to certain things that others were scolded for. A lot of the management were unprofessional at times, letting personal feelings dictate how they interacted with people.

Pros

The pay was more than most secretary positions.

Cons

Supervisors were allowed to promote individuals without skill, while leaving others with knowledge, skills, and seniority to take on being POCs and training facilitators for all other secretaries and admin. None of the work was secretary work. It was all administrative and finance. They got away with underpaying by labeling the positions as "secretary".

Pros

Fun job, good training, great Co workers. I was able to deal and work directly with the client, my co workers and my officers. I was given great training and was able to train others.

Cons

I was salary and worked on average 60-70 hours a week and was only paid for 40 but that's salary for you. On call 24/7 received call offs and phone calls on all holidays, weekends, nights all the time and not paid for any additional time put in.
