A lot of gossip HR is useless, do not complain about anything to them and do not report anything to them, HR does not follow the company policies and they will not do anything for the employee they only think about the managers and to protect them. Managers never have to take responsibility of their actions and they get away with everything.

Locals are favourite of management and quickly become Managers, directors and VPs with minimal or zero technical provess. Only thing they are good at is setting unrealistic timelines and then forcing this deadlines on scientists. No matter how good you are with your experience or technical expertise, you continue at same position for years while your Icelandic coworkers climb the corporate ladder in no time. Company boasts about equal opportunities, but that’s only if you are local or boss’s favourite. Higher positions are created and filled without any advertising.
