Pros

Great company culture and benefits and an overall great place to work. The technology requires an intersection of many different areas of science and engineering, offering an incredible oppurtunity for learning and career development. Availability of many resources and very talented co-workers.

Cons

Unfortunately despite the promising aspects of Ambri's technology, it no longer makes economic sense. Since the companies founding, lithium ion battery prices per kilowatt have fallen nearly 75% and the liquid metal battery technology no longer offers the cost benefits it once did. Furthermore, the technology is still incomplete, with technological challenges still remaining. With market conditions as they are, i believe it is highly unlikely they will be able to last beyond 2018. If planning to begin working for Ambri, you should be aware that i believe it will most likely not be a long term assignment.

Pros

Nice people. Good work-life balance

Cons

The management is so poor. It seems like people are nice, but when it comes to decision-making and developing the right strategies for the company, they do a terrible job. If you care about your future and your growth, don't stay in the company. The CEO does not care about his people much... When I interviewed with the company, it was pretty promising and looked like a pioneer technology and ready to be commercialized, but when I started, I realized the fact that there are a lot of fundamental issues in the core technology and probably it needs a couple of more years of research and development to have the fundamentals ready to work. So, they faked where they are on their technology, or maybe the top technical people were not knowledgeable enough to understand where they are. Generally, I regret working for this company and interacting with and trusting the top leaders. Working with the top technical leaders, they don't let others help them as they are overconfident in their knowledge, which is not right, and clearly, their guidance/approach was not successful in the past couple of years. However, I made some good friends there.
