Pros

The American Journalism Project (AJP) is dedicated to addressing the local news crisis by providing essential funding and resources to independent local news organizations. This allows these outlets to thrive in an environment where traditional media struggles.

Cons

Despite its efforts, AJP can only support a limited number of outlets due to financial constraints. This means some regions and underrepresented communities may not receive the full benefit of their initiatives.

Pros

If you can tolerate gross incompetence and a toxic culture, the pay is good.

Cons

Leadership lacks vision and experience growing and leading teams. There is a strong tendency to put their heads in the sand when problems are brought to their attention. There is no functioning HR, so problems are never meaningfully addressed. They pay lip service to diversity and inclusion. Leadership is rife with micromanagers who frequently use gaslighting and lies as a management strategy.
