Pros

After all my years with AMID, I can honestly say that there are NO pros, or anything positive to say or comment about this very undirected company.

Cons

There are so many negative things I can say, that there is probably not enough spacing in this section to do so. First off, the management all of the way to the CEO are clueless. The Operations Management are total idiots and have no clue as to the actual operations in the field. The Operations Management Team needs to be replaced with people of more experience rather than a group of know nothings and butt kissers. After several years of putting up with the know nothing and butt kissing bureaucracy, I had enough and spoke my mind, and was terminated for it. The company required me to work many long hours and weekends and did not compensate me for it. In five years I only had the opportunity to take less than 9 days of vacation time, and AMID took that away after all of the dedication that I had given the company. I am using this platform not only as a way to express the way that I was treated by AMID, but also to warn any potential employees to stay clear of AMID unless you too wish to be degraded and violated. Also....pay no attention to the positive comments posted on here, as they are posted by the AMID HR Department. I personally knew almost all of the employees with the company, and there is not a single one that does not agree, or have the same opinions that I do. I Have moved on to MUCH better employment, so this is not about retaliation, just about the truth about AMID, and their substandard Management.

Pros

The review written on Oct 16, that tried to put a good spin on AMID was written by HR. Its actually getting a bit hysterical, they were huddled in the corner of their room, trying to put a positive spin on the all of the horrible reviews. After Harvey, a group within AMID started keeping track of all of the resignations and it was like 30% of the Houston office. With every major integration, none of the employees come on board.

Cons

Why is working for AMID like having Cancer? First there is the diagnosis. It is shocking, earth shattering and you start thinking that your life may be over. It is a slog of doctors appointments, chemo, radiation, you are around other sick people. Miserable. Trying to keep a brave face for your family while trying to get up out of bed every day shakes you to the core. This is what it is like to work at AMID. You trudge into work. You get yelled at. You are at the whim of a dictator. You feel as if there is no hope. You look around and all you see is misery. Then the scans come in and you are cancer free. That is the day that you receive a new job offer. There is a beam of sunlight that shines through the darkness. You get to resign from the worst company in the world. The weight is lifted from your shoulders. You smile more, you have an extra hop in your step. The birds sing, and the breeze blows and ultimately, there is hope.

Pros

Good culture, nice offices, Christmas parties

Cons

Very stressful work environment. This company transferred its corp office from Denver to Houston in 2016 and has had multiple acquisitions since. They are in growth mode, but unfortunately do not have the infrastructure to support it. There is no work life balance here. If you are in accounting, be prepared to work 70+ hours a week. You will work EVERY SINGLE DAY with almost no days off EVER. The accounting systems and processes do not support the growth and senior management does not care if they burn out their staff.
