Pros

Paycheck was always on time. If you like a challenge, this is the place for you. The owner will promise to the client he, aka you (the employee), can build the great pyramids over the weekend, come in on Monday and be upset you didn't do it. A few months here will make you value working for any other company. You will have an AMAZING job title, but be the lowest paid director in the world. Never a boring moment because you will hold 2 or 3 jobs for 1/3 the market pay of one.

Cons

A long tenure at Amped Marketing is 9 months, there is a HIGH turnover rate. The owner uses people, lies to them, then discards them. He can't afford to or doesn't want to compensate you market value for your work, but will brag about how he's collecting $100k cars. Meetings are worthless. The owner will say one thing in a meeting, send a follow up email a few hours later with something completely different. Another employee told me he recorded his conversations with the owner and caught him in several lies. Yelling and emotional outbursts from the owner are standard. You will start thinking the job is fun and a family. Then realize, just like a family, you will get walked all over. Owner will tease you, but will be upset if you get him with a zinger. You will be bullied into signing a nearly unenforceable NDA/No Compete which dictates you must cut all contact with anyone you meet at Amped Marketing.

Because this review is anonymous, we cannot confirm the identity of the individual or many of the specific claims being made. However, we feel it is important to provide context for prospective candidates. Amped has always paid employees on time, as the reviewer acknowledges. Roles are clearly defined, compensation is discussed transparently at the offer stage, and no employee is required to accept a position or terms they are not comfortable with. Job titles reflect responsibilities, not guarantees of compensation, and salary ranges are based on experience, performance, and scope. Like many agencies, we operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. That environment can be rewarding for individuals who are accountable, adaptable, and comfortable managing competing priorities, but it is not the right fit for everyone. When expectations are not met, or projects fall behind despite extended timelines and support, those situations are addressed directly. That accountability can feel uncomfortable to some, but it is necessary to serve clients and protect the business. We categorically reject claims of manipulation, dishonesty, or abusive behavior. We also do not engage in frivolous litigation against employees or clients. Any confidentiality or non-compete agreements used are standard, limited in scope, and intended solely to protect client relationships and proprietary information. We recognize that not every employment relationship works out, and we respect that this individual did not feel Amped was the right long-term fit. We wish former employees success in their future roles and remain committed to building a professional, challenging, and growth-oriented workplace for those who thrive in an agency setting.

Pros

Checks always came in on time, the boss was kind of funny, coffee was always stocked, always found parking easily.

Cons

they misrepresent how much they could pay me in the initial posting, it is difficult to get anyone to take things seriously for more than three minutes, constant pointless meetings, it’s a nightmare trying to get in contact with the boss but he still micromanaged so every project crawled along. I left because I didn’t feel I was being paid enough and when I left two other people left around the same time and I overheard both of them in loud disputes about similar issues (this is what I heard, I don’t know the backstory nor do I know who was right and who was wrong in those cases). Online they advertise salaries they cannot afford to get people in, this was confirmed to me by the owner in a meeting I had prior to leaving for not being paid what they had advertised. A couple of their five star reviews on google and Facebook are from their employees. A couple employees were very rude and seemed to try to play an alpha games with the other men in the office for seemingly no reason, it was honestly just strange. The owner tells inappropriate information to his employees about other employees and clients. I found nearly everything about this job unprofessional and stressful and I would not recommend it to anyone. This is all my personal experience, I wish everyone there well but I am glad I left. I really wanted to like the job.

Because this review is anonymous, we are unable to confirm the individual’s identity or the specific circumstances referenced. That said, we take feedback seriously and want to clarify a few points for anyone considering Amped. All positions are posted with a salary range, and offers are made within that range based on experience, role scope, and performance expectations. While some candidates understandably hope to be placed at the top of a range, compensation is aligned with qualifications and responsibilities, not solely expectations. Amped has always aimed to maintain a fast-paced, collaborative, and energetic environment. That style is a strong fit for some people and not for others. We recognize that agency life is not for everyone, and we respect that different individuals thrive in different work settings. We appreciate the acknowledgment that payroll was always timely and that there were positive aspects of the workplace. While we regret that this individual did not feel the role was the right fit, we wish them well and remain committed to continually improving as a company.
