Pros

Flexible work schedule and a lot of paid-time-off (starts at either 14 or 21 days per year), friendly co-workers, beautiful campus, good tuition waiver benefits (although graduate program choices are somewhat limited)

Cons

Very few opportunities for advancement due to small size of organization and upper management's preference for external hires over internal promotions. Upper management seem at a loss of ideas to respond to increasing market pressures in private higher education other than continuously tightening financial constraints. This basically translates directly to low or no raises, increasing co-pays and decreasing coverage for medical insurance, and not filling open positions.

Cons

The pay is horrible. Faculty has been beat down by administrators. The faculty is fractured and unable to resist the will of administrators. The school continues to eliminate programs that make it a liberal arts institution careening it ever more towards a vocational-technical school. All that will be left after their cuts will be STEM programs. There is no longer support for the arts in any form. The university has lost a grasp of who it is as an institution and instead of standing for its ideals it is grasping, no gasping, at whatever quick fix looks like it will work next. Namely, more
