Lovely place to work, but lots of internal battles between teams

Pros

Great work-life balance Kind and lovely people Real effort to help you learn and progress Great pay for entry-level roles

Cons

Lots of internal battles between teams (especially marketing, brand, PR etc) that could get very tense and awkward. Lots of 'them vs us' mentality. Several unnecessary weekly/bi-weekly/monthly meetings that could be done over message or not at all. Managers seems to have a heavy workload Lots of structure change over the last 2 years

Poor experience

Pros

-Great cause -Some amazing people (particularly Facilities) -The organisation feels relatively well funded and stable -Pay isn't too bad (for the charity sector)

Cons

-Vindictive, distrustful leadership -Incredibly hierarchical, with teams having very little room for autonomy (even the tiniest decisions require SLT sign-off) -Unwelcoming attitude by some middle managers -Antiquated, inefficient systems and processes -Siloed working, little communication between divisions (or even between teams in the same division) -Unclear strategy; projects are given approval with little consideration about how they align with the wider org objectives and without securing staff buy-in -Few opportunities for growth and career progression -Line management can be VERY hit and miss; some managers are completely incapable of managing people and processes and the organisation doesn't offer them enough support. I had very high hopes when I first joined Anthony Nolan and still have huge respect for its mission, so I'm genuinely sad that I had a poor experience working here. If you take pride in your work and are keen to learn and grow, I would strongly advise you to look elsewhere.
