Pros

The owners Invest in their employees: they are down to earth.

Cons

There is favoritism; too much of it as far as I am concerned. If you don't kiss up or become apart of a clique then you are treated as an outsider and don't get me started on promotions. If you are not in a clique then don't even worry about. They don't see that people are hurting who are being treated like this and once you speak up, does it do you any good? You just walk around with that. I had high hopes when I started at the company but after being there the time that I was I begin to see people for who they really were and it really shocked me and that is why I left. I enjoyed some of peers but I would speak to people in elevators some would roll there eyes or walk by a supervisor and her subordinates and hear them say comments that were hurtful and I did not understand why nor did I feel confident to speak with anyone. I have been hurt at this place and I hate that a few supervisors or managers there changed my perception of the place.

Pros

Benefits are good such as profit sharing and tuition reimbursement and some of the outings. That is pretty much all I have to say concerning the benefits.

Cons

Cliques OMG in Client Accounting and Account Services there are the worst cliques. It's like being back in high school all over again. If you don't kiss up to the supervisors then you will not get promoted at all. They don't want hard workers, just fans. Those who would tell them what they want to hear and not the truth. I hope upper managment look more closely at these departments and see the messiness of some of the supervisors. They don't do any work but would pass it along to underlings. And then they call it teamwork when you do your peers work, but the last time I checked everyone was paid to do their job and if I am going to do someone else's job then give me their check. This place has caused more hurts to their employees and these two departments are the worst. Beware of the fake smiles and hugs because they come along with knives in your back and broken hearts. They say they care but they don't.

Favoritism

Pros

If you're good at building relationships, "playing the game", you could make some decent money here. Benefits are good etc.

Cons

When I started with this company there were around 130 employees. Currently sitting at 270ish, Apex has not been able to set clear boundaries on the culture that they promote. The "work hard, play hard" mentality has always worked, but it has become a breeding ground for high school drama and favoritism. Employees get away with either a lot, or a little, depending on who your manager is and if they like you or not. The HR department has zero say in issues that employees might have pertaining to their environment and manager, regardless of how many people might feel this way. Apex wants to make people feel like they have a voice, but it's a joke. There is a high chance that your manager is only a puppet being controlled by someone else in Senior Management. If you are looking for a company that really provides supervisors/managers that are proficient in career development and growth, I would not look here. You must be a self starter to move up and have enough drive to gain ample knowledge about the industry/company processes. Some managers are not able to give constructive feedback or communicate potential issues they might have with you, so you might not know where you stand. Some departments are much worse then others(client accounting), stay woke.
