Pros

-Though my time here was somewhat brief, it was an excellent learning opportunity that exposed me to doing recruitment the right way... with ethics and customer care at the forefront of all I/we did -Excellent role model Managing Consultant who supported me on both a personal and professional level -Collaboration with the team is authentic. I’ve never heard of a team that allocate new business to a consultant with specific areas of expertise. At Apply, this was never a question, more a standard process. -The team are a great bunch to work with, and all hold individual industry experience that combine to form a very comprehensive work force that have a lot in terms of skills to take to market -Genuine opportunity for personal development, both financially and in terms of title. If you ask, and are willing to put the work in, you will gain promotions -Staff are actually encouraged, not forced, to do well for themselves and their families. If things aren’t going well, Apply looks at how to help you, not the reasons for your failures. -Apply have a strong reputation with some big brands. A lot of consultants struggle to obtain this, but Apply taught me the importance of relationship building, but more importantly, how to do so professionally. -Salaries are competitive, and remote options are available. Circumstances usually considered. -External training provided for all staff - a huge investment from a small business -Friendly environment where innovation is often encouraged! -Diversity and Inclusion when hiring internally is actively recognised -None of the consultants are “above” anyone else - I felt that I could always voice my opinion on situations that resulted in an improved customer experience, regardless of who was “more/less senior” - this agency-infamous model is simply non existent at Apply

Cons

-Lacks a competitive commission structure -Office atmosphere can be rather quiet - I personally found it difficult to feel and function comfortably sometimes; this is likely due to the background of workplace I come from. -When I did leave, I intended to do it with as much positivity as possible. I don’t think I spoke a word to the Owner following my resignation - I understand it may be frustrating, but I felt it was difficult to genuinely leave on good terms (which I feel was a real shame, given the positive experience + contribution my end). -Though I voiced my concerns from the off-set on small things (being a start-up, there are always ways to shape and improve as the business grows), I felt that on times if the MD didn’t agree, it was very difficult to implement/suggest change without being dismissed. This was also sometimes apparent in 1to1 meetings when presenting objections to statements/opinions. -1to1 meetings aren’t my style, in terms of management. On occasion, these felt quite intense/uncomfortable, though again, I’m sure this is unintentional.
