Pros

- supportive and knowledgeable team - unrivalled pay/OT - amazing flexibility (no time sheets, just make sure work is complete on time, do good work and keep clients happy) - inclusivity - accelerated learning with support - autonomy - forward thinking and progressive - excellent benefits such as money towards gym membership, free spotify etc - working from home except for site visits, which are usually quite close to your location

Cons

- the autonomy means that KPI's are used. I didn't find this a problem, but you must manage your time well, stay on top of admin and communicate well with clients - which some people may struggle with.

Pros

You (have to) learn a lot very very quickly. The pay is very good compare dot my last job and the one I am in now. The overtime rates are so high it is quite hard to leave arbtech, because you have to take a big backward step in pay (it is not that difficult to double your wages in overtime). Tons of friendly people. Socials can be fun. Perks and 40 days holiday is miles better than other places. Compared to my previous jobs and current one, I highly rate it as an experience and miss it a lot sometimes. I definitely miss the money.

Cons

Don't apply unless you know you can consistently work very hard all year round. The company does not have 'quiet periods' like some ecology consultancies do. No other way to say it..summer is mental. Management can be incredibly supportive sometimes but they seem to have a very black and white approach to resolving issues and sometimes that doesn't come across well from an employee standpoint. The boss is actually nice in real life but it took me two years to find that out. Some of the ecologists exist in cliques and those can be hard to break into.

Pros

Flexible time Decent overtime for those who wanted it Some great colleagues Good start for entry level to gain experience fast Gold stars for those favoured by those above

Cons

Toxic management Forced interactions on LinkedIn (yeah, we were threatened with angry one to one calls if we didn't react positively to ROs and Arbtech's posts on there) Public shout outs for those not deemed good enough, even if you are. Mental Health team were a joke, you speak to someone about struggling and you are met with "Arbtech isn't for everyone". Toxic drug-fuelled parties with encouragement from upper management to take drugs and get drunk on their over priced vodka at events. Pressure to take on jobs you aren't ready for with the promise of help, only to be met with silence or "too busy, sorry" and then blamed for screwing up. Money driven with no interest in actually following guidelines and laws - just take a look at some of the reports! Asked the staff how the company can improve, but then dragged and belittled when offered suggestions. Told to push "standard" sites back to take on "rapid" sites because they are worth more money and the if the client's can't afford to pay the higher costs, then they don't deserve the survey. "health and safety is call 999 or stop crying about it" was ROs answer when questioned on health and safety practices and lone working.
