If you work in DCFS, not DCO you will work lots of overtime, will not see your friends or family, supervisors are hand picked by a buddy system, most supervisors are not qualified for the job title. NO SUPPORT from the department. If you are not a brown nose and a " yes" person you will be targeted by supervisors and pull through " ****". You will be treated with NO respect by supervisors, & treated as though you are below their feet. If you have a question about policy, you will receive a smart*** remark and eyes rolled at you. I would not suggest this job for anyone who has any dignity or respect for themselves. That being said I'm quitting after 3 yrs of living in ****. NO AMOUNT OF MONEY is worth the **** you will go through on this job.

High burn-out from constant crisis mode. Low work/life balance ability. You probably won't have time to take advantage of benefits. The job must be done no matter what, whether sick, understaffed or without the tools or time necessary. You must make this job the priority in your life. Also, the stories and lives you encounter may keep you awake at night.
