Pros

Location-Central Texas; working in a now 3 hospital system which should give them a heavy advantage on market share and rates

Cons

Seton has no strategy or plan on how to be successful. Their leadership is reactive based on the monthly financials and their quality is poor in their hospitals due to the deep cuts to the 25th percentile of nursing. Meanwhile, their executive team keeps increasing their pay and losing market share. Heavily reliant on Dell Children's hospital as their only primary revenue source.

Pros

Great health, dental and vision insurance. Decent PTO accrual. Some coworkers care about their job. Company sponsors many community events.

Cons

Poor management, high turnover, top heavy management but consistently under staffed in all departments. Managers who don't know the workload of their staff. Unrealistic company goals even when under staffed. It's all about numbers for them now and true patient care has went out the door. Consultants on site that don't know what each worker does but have a say on if you move up or transfer into another department.

Pros

Provides care for all people even if uninsured

Cons

Low pay does not reflect cost of living in Austin; starting salary is higher in Uvalde, TX! Always understaffed, patient care suffers b/c you are always running from one room to the next, no time to really talk with patients or families; Never get to eat a proper lunch; Incompetent managers; Managers berate and use fear and negative reinforcement instead of inspiring employees to reach goals;
