      Ridiculous Bipolar Over Micromanagement

      Pros

      Company has a refrigerator and has bottled water to drink. There are lots of empty desks and empty chairs too. There are some fluorescent lights, most work.

      Cons

      CEO does no work what-so-ever, except for micromanaging and criticizing everyone. The CEO believes that negative reinforcement and punishment are the way to success. Claims to be in business for over 30 years, yet few clients and fewer employees. Suspect CEO has burned every bridge in the HPC space and no-one cares to do business with Aspen Systems. Company has serious communication issues. Consistently late on shipping client jobs. CEO is sexist.

      Micromanagement and High Turnover

      Pros

      The industry is very interesting.

      Cons

      Leadership micromanages and takes all fun out of work. There is no team comradary, and all of the seasoned employees are just waiting for the new employees to quit or get fired. I worked there for less than a year, and I saw six people leave, and four of those people were fired. This is a company of only ten people. The turnover is very high. The CEO flips a switch very quickly, and he is very inconsistent. I am sorry I wasted my time here.

      Pros

      Company customers are great and are do interesting things. If you directly interact with them it can be quite fun.

      Cons

      Management is sub-par to say the least. CEO has control and possibly chemical issues, and entire work experience reflects that, as there really is no other management than the CEO. As someone else stated, check on LinkedIn for people who have left and get feedback from them before you take a job there. There are far more ex-employees than people who work there; the turn-over is very high.
