Pros

As I approach my one-year anniversary with AspireHR, I thought I’d write about my experience and the feelings of satisfaction, trust and inclusion at AspireHR. My life experience of 54 years in the workplace has been varied including retail, two of my own businesses (one web design & one licensed captain of a sailboat and trip service), office management, training delivery & development, and now for 16 years, SuccessFactors. All of those jobs have included roles from the bottom-line worker in a candy department to VP of Customer Success and every level of responsibility in between. To reuse J.K. Simmons statement for Farmers Insurance, “I know a thing or two, because I’ve seen a thing or two". I have to say that in all those years and all those roles and for all those companies for whom I worked, AspireHR is at the top of the heap in terms of employee satisfaction. I’ve never felt more trusted and appreciated, nor more accepted in terms of diversity. Yes, diversity as in ‘old’. I wondered if I’d ever be considered for a full-time position again due to my age. AspireHR believes strongly in diversity and inclusion in all ways possible and I’m living proof. Watch out Aspire, as I refer to myself as RBG2, Ruth Bader Ginsburg the 2nd , just a different industry. 😉 Along with the strong focus on diversity is the corporate culture & value of One Team. I’ve often said, how did I ever get a job that makes me feel stupid every 3 months (now every 6 months) due to the code releases. Just when you think you know your stuff, there’s a release and you have to learn and get certified all over again. However, I’m not afraid anymore as we are One Team at Aspire and if I need help, I just need to ask. Every team member is very happy to pitch in. Work life balance and Personal Career Development are also very important to management. Aspire’s motto is ‘Employees First’! All my former employers SAID employees were important to them, but for the first time, I really feel like that’s true at Aspire. I know, I know, how can all this be true? Maybe I’m just not mentioning the downside, but honestly, I can’t think of a downside. The great news is that aside from my own opinion and experience, Customers love the AspireHR team/culture from sales, to implementation, to PMO, to Support teams. And Aspire is growing! Visit their Careers page if you are interested in working as a valued member of a great team. https://www.aspirehr.com/careers/ I’m very happy to be reaching my one-year anniversary on May 17th and looking forward to many more. The oldest woman just passed at 119. And she worked until 108! I’m going for the record! 😊

Cons

I honestly cannot think of any cons. The team is wonderful from top to bottom.

Pros

Overall, most of the people are genuine, intelligent, and well-intentioned. The owner is one of the nicest and smartest women you will ever meet. The company encourages a sense of humor and nurtures personality differences.

Cons

The leadership team and their decision-making engine is like a skit from Hee Haw or a Benny Hill bit. Any given week there's a manufactured crisis and a new "big bad" for the team to focus on, but one week later it's on to something else. Some positions are virtually infallible, while others work with the sword of Damocles over their head for years on end. They will preach about work/life balance until the cows come home, but it is jettisoned out of an airlock the second it is not convenient.

Pros

My salary is comparable and the benefits aren't bad. And, I work with a lot of great consultants.

Cons

You don't really know who is running the place. There are many partners and VP's, but no one is aware or seem to care that the consultants are overworked. There isn't a single employee in an administrative or support role and there is no HR department. So, if there is any sort of problem, you are out of luck.
