Pros

The coworkers are nice. People are caring and protective of each other. They hold each other up. Certain managers will hear you out and do their best for you.

Cons

When I first started, the work was reasonable and enjoyable. After purchasing 9 hospitals in 3 years, I hate my job. If you complete a project well you will be assigned four more. There is no respect for work life balance. You are underpaid, underappreciated, and, at time, micromanaged. Benefits aren't great, health insurance has gone up quite a bit in the past 3 years. Max raise even if you are a superstar is 3% a year. PTO days at the start are 19 days but this includes 6 holidays so its only 13 days off of your choice (this goes up marginally after 5 years) Brave enough to ask for a raise? You will get laughed at. Want to comp a day because you worked 55+ hours so far this week? The answer is no. Many roles are single threaded. So you can't enjoy time off and will still get called when you are off. There isn't a strong mentorship or onboarding process. People are exhausted.

Pros

Job security (maybe?) but other than a steady paycheck.... it's hard to come up with anything positive

Cons

Slashed benefits, slashed pay, slashed hours, demanding more from employees when you physically can't (giving RN's 16+ patients just isn't safe). Insurance is a joke. the deductible on my plan was $2,700. Then they only cover 50% of what the deemed "necessary treatment".

Pros

A lot of people who are employed here has developed tactics to keep their motivation going despite the low incentives and morale destroying methods of management. Majority of the people are kind folks, devoted people who has served the industry for years and just want to continue doing so. Provide raises annually, even if it's just 1-2%. A lot of career opportunities.

Cons

Build you up to fail. Management will delegate you "leadership" responsibilities to take on but when the chance comes to step into a role, they say that you have no leadership experience. The workflow process is missing at this place. There is zero standardization in the non-clinical world (I can't speak for the clinical side). 10% of the employees actually understand what tools to use, and less than 5% knows how to properly use them. Even if you are outstanding, take on extra shifts, extra responsibilities or go over and beyond on your tasks, you will only receive AVERAGE scores on your annual appraisals. If you are an over-achiever, you will be compared to someone who does the minimum, so what is the point? A lot of career opportunities. That is because of High turnover.
