Cons
the rush when is needed to do some job
Pros
Compensation and Incentives: As fitting for a highly ambitious financial entity, the compensation and benefits were significantly more than any other company was offering, as was peking duck and dim sum. I won't be craving any Chinese food again for a long time. Exposure and Development: Interacting with executives in US, China, Singapore and Middle East provided an expansive cross-cultural encounter, which helped to immensely expand my knowledge of how to deal people with vastly different cultures from my own. Significant Learning curve: In dealing with different time zones, sectors, and clients, there was an expected high learning curve, but for me this was a positive as I wanted to be challenged.
Cons
Highly Demanding Schedule: Managing clients and executives across different time zones resulted in basically 24/7 working hours and six-day work weeks, which were emotinoally and physically taxing on me and my husband. Balancing work and life became a challenge too great for me. Pressure and Stress: With executives' ambitions and came high expectations and excessive pressure to maintain top-notch performance, which often resulted in heightened stress levels that I was expected not to show or speak of. In hindsight, this actually true of nearly all positions in this company-- when I was interviewed I was made aware that this position is only for highly driven and result oriented person. Lack of Peers' Support: Owing to the heavy workload, there was minimal time for peer interaction and support, which sometimes resulted in isolated working conditions. Most of my peers were from different cultures, so I spent the majority of free time communicating with my family members, friends and my husband.
Pros
Exceptional Understanding of Compliance Regulations in the jurisdictions they operate within. Company remains strictly compliant with all regulatory bodies, minimizing legal risks. Excellent communication between different departments and executives; directors go out of their way to fostered collaborative and transparent working environment. Strong leadership from the CEO.
Cons
High Workload: There are periods when the current workload seems overwhelming due to the vast nature of the compliance landscape and high demands of the expanding company. Such high workload and expectations can put undue strain and potentially affect long-term performance of some executives.
