Pros

Cool co workers, traditional start vibes (snacks, beers, HH, etc.)

Cons

For the longest time, Atmosphere was a fun place to work. There are growing pains that come with scale and success, but I've never witnessed such a shallow organization.Just a quick glance at some of the core values the company claims: Own the Underdog: As scale ramped up, the Ad Sales/Revenue wing hired almost exclusively from traditional media outlets and the same big name media companies we set out to disrupt. Vigor not Hustle: Leaders within the Platform Sales team almost exclusively focus on "dials & talk time" (hustle) as success metrics. This is a call center, not a sales floor. LOUDER MUSIC! Winning Mentality: At any given time for the last year, around 40% of the sales floor was on some type of PIP. These PIPs were essentially documents that said hustle more to save your job or we will replace you with another college student or ex bartender to see if they'll hustle harder for the same results! Integrity: CHRO fosters an environment that led to a mass exodus and more tears than I care to remember. Humility: Executives hosted "Caviar and Champagne" happy hours at Cannes Film Festival while the entire company is underpaid and Banksy art adorns each office. Evolve or Die: 5 days/week required in office with no remote/hybrid flexibility Fortune Favors the Bold: Within two weeks of laying off 25% of the company, each member of the C-Suite posted to LinkedIn an article titled "Atmosphere named one of Inc. 500s fastest growing companies." Bold, indeed.

Pros

Initial Exposure to the Corporate World: Joining as a Content Outreach Coordinator provided an introduction to the corporate and tech environment, offering valuable initial experience. Opportunity for Professional Development: Engaging with a team, generating leads, and contacting content creators offered skill development. Some Attempt at Diversification: The Engagement Committee attempted to diversify events by introducing themes such as Pride and small business showcases, demonstrating initiative towards inclusivity. However, this was before the layoffs, and no similar efforts have been made since. Spacious Offices: The Bouldin Creek office, despite ongoing construction, offered a spacious working environment with the potential for comfortable working arrangements once fully furnished.

Cons

Bro-ish Atmosphere: The work culture, characterized by excessive drinking, overly masculine behavior, and boisterous celebrations, contributed to an uncomfortable work environment. Questionable Business Decisions: Splitting the workforce across multiple downtown buildings instead of embracing remote work led to inefficiencies and potentially missed cost-saving opportunities. Layoffs and Disconnected Leadership: Ongoing layoffs, especially at higher levels, disrupted morale, and the return of leadership brought minimal communication, leaving employees feeling disconnected. Impactful Cost-Cutting Measures: Discontinuing beneficial programs like the green credit and replacing food subsidies with inferior options negatively impacted employee benefits and satisfaction. Incomplete Office Transition: Moving to the Bouldin Creek office, though spacious, lacked completion, leading to a barren working environment exacerbated by recent layoffs. Content Challenges: Despite a promising role, utilizing content proved challenging as most went unused. Acquiring higher-quality content remained unfeasible due to budget constraints. Ineffective Social Media Strategy: The company's social media strategy lacked foresight and failed to tap into available content resources, leading to wasted efforts and missed opportunities for exposure due to a lack of leadership approval.

Pros

Great lower management. Fun team members.

Cons

Every person above the Senior manager are total duds. Complete yes-men who have no interest in protecting their employees. Work load increases as pay decreases. Don’t try to “do your job” the only thing senior leaders are concerned with is the exponential growth brought on by the telemarketers, I mean AE’s. The HR department act like high school mean girls and don’t know their head from a hole in the ground. Truly the blind leading the blind with a leader who has a previous sexual harassment case from her last job. Her right hand lackey who gives off major cuck vibes likes to act big and bad to make him feel alive. Bottom line: fun place to work for awhile as long as you do what your told and do not call out bad business practices you see happening. I’m so glad I am no longer affiliated with this shiesty company. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
