Pros

Pays well, relaxed vibe, some lovely team members, fuel card, work life balance, remote working

Cons

Management fire staff with no performance plans, no training/development, no processes followed when passing probation, management leaving after 6 months to a competitor, incorrect information given during interview, you will be let go suddenly unless you are over performing and they won't tell you if you're not doing enough and also won't set targets or tell you their expectations, force customers to drop their pants on price to make their business model work, falsely bid on their own properties to encourage bidders to meet the reserve price, confusing work processes as everyone doing things differently, fighting colleagues for business in the same area, told it was mostly a work from home job only to be let go for not getting out enough, told commissions are easy to hit and it'll happen naturally when you have to be smart and pool all your sales in one month to make it happen

Pros

The auction industry is a dynamic place to work. There are constant opportunities for learning, so you never get bored. I've been lucky and had career advancement opportunities as well.

Cons

If you're in it for the money, you'll be disappointed. In addition, if you're working for smaller auction companies, best not to have extremely high expectations. Unfortunately, standards might be lower than what you were taught in school.
