Pros

Genuinely none, I'm not even joking.

Cons

Where do I begin... Denied breaks (even after 5 hours of working), defence force rejects fill many ranks across ABF which has led to spiralling workplace culture (lets be honest, it' toxic). Nepotism and cronyism is out of control (I've seen it from overseas postings, right through to junior new recruits). CTU think they own everything and everyone (please...cut the crap). Some decent colleagues remain, but we're definitely outranked and outnumbered by rotten to the core ageing scumbags. Hint, these are the ones bringing in their children to work for the org. I could go on for ages. AVOID!

Pros

Good work/life balance if you're in the right job.

Cons

No support from Management. Knee-jerk decision making. Mindless repetition. Bullying/harassment is a real problem. Incest culture - a good chunk of the workforce is married to or sleeping with someone else in the workforce. Jobs for the boys (and family in many cases) is rampant. Ridiculous small things are punished severely while outrageous negligence and incompetence is routinely overlooked. Continual funding cuts are taken out on lower level staff. Maddening inconsistency in just about every aspect.

Pros

The superannuation at 15.4% is the only benefit. Great front-line officers working to protect us My feedback is aimed at the lazy, imcompetant people in the payroll department I pity them. I honour the 90% of Border Force Officers who do the right thing.

Cons

Too many to mention -It is a big boy's club and basically they are in the payroll department because they a) are related to someone else, b) are sleeping with someone higher in the same department, c) have a parent who is a career public servant. -Workplace bullying and discrimination is rife and if you are ethnic or have a disability you will be targeted. -Females expected to wear skimpy, low cut tops honestly I wander if it is a brothel or a professional working environment. --Any female who is educated and articulate is seen as a threat by the big boy's club and is basically forced out. - Please all applicants do not waste your time applying for a role within the Payroll department known as NPAC. This department does not deserve quality applicants. There is a reason these roles are advertised every 6 months.
