      Avail is challenging, stressful, and ever changing due to company growth.

      Pros

      Avail is flexible and a very friendly place to work. The executives tout a "family atmosphere" but that atmosphere is inversely proportional to the size of the company. The company is growing, which provides great job security and the people are largely a very good group of people to work with.

      Cons

      Upper management often does not communicate well with the rest of their employees or even each other. Hours can often be overwhelming especially if you are in a department that is understaffed, which is usually the case. Getting the resources needed in both capitol and man hours is often difficult because most departments are already under staffed.

      Pros

      Flexible hours, so you can look for other jobs. Immediate 4 weeks paid vacation. Office located minutes from Jerry Sandusky's house. Front desk lady is so friendly and helpful.

      Cons

      No raises and you start 20-30% below average salary. They try to make up for that with the ESOP which might as well be an IOU...that you'll never get paid for. You immediately become a buyer of stock you don't want. They claim it's "free" stock, but when it's given in lieu of a decent salary, then it's not so free. Google it. I have to travel always, am away from my family, and am expected to pay all expenses out of pocket until I'm reimbursed (can take up to two weeks). But I DO get to visit prime U.S. vacation spots like Butler, PA.

      Pros

      Great first job. They would have company events every month like paint ball or chili cook offs. It was a lot of fun. Work life balance was important to them. A group of people would spend summer lunches going for a bike ride. The building is very new with a kitchen and showers if needed. The work was also interesting and there’s an established software development lifecycle that made progress quick and efficient.

      Cons

      This may have changed, but their salary and benefits aren’t as competitive as other company’s in the area.
