Pros

- Great looking office with free coffee and cookies all the time. - Cleaning staff always on hand

Cons

Warning to Employees Things might look fantastic from the outside—the shiny office, the fabulous pay—but don’t be fooled. Aware Super’s employment culture is incredibly toxic, led by management that seems to actively work against their employees’ success. There are some truly nasty people here, and very few individuals actually do their work. Most don’t know how to do their jobs, and those who do work hard are likely to be pushed out. It’s a praise-driven culture that rewards sycophants and sidelines anyone who tries to make a real difference. The member growth team is particularly toxic and corrupt. They pretend to care about their members, but in reality, they’re more concerned with filling their pockets with their inflated salaries - ultimately misusing members’ funds. Management is dragging the company down, with outdated and insecure tech that leaves both employees and members vulnerable. Say something out of line, and you’ll hurt someone’s feelings—especially those of the people who have no professional clue what they’re doing. Incompetence is protected here, and questioning it will make you the target. If you value your mental health, professional growth, or ethical integrity, look elsewhere. This place is a dead end. Pros

Gym reimbursement, if you use it.

Cons

Aware once had a truly 'members first' culture and was a great place to work. However, recent leadership has turned it into a toxic nightmare by hiring questionable individuals into key leadership positions. These leaders have delivered no notable achievements but glide through thanks to their 'gift of the gab'. The result: The company fails to meet KPIs and has lost its focus on members. Strategic direction from the top seems confused, as shown by constant restructuring in an attempt to finally "get it right." All at the expense of loyal, hardworking staff who are demoted or pushed out in favour of externals from the pool of friends of the leadership team. Morale is at an all time low, impacting productivity. Despite its claims of diversity, the reality is different. The higher up you go, the less diversity you see. Diversity initiatives are performative only. While the job market is tough, only consider Aware Super for a very short stint if you're truly desperate.

Pros

The utopian bubble they present to pretend they are awesome. Flexible work within arbitrary conditions Menopause leave Hybrid work Tea/coffee and fruit and cookies provided Some celebrations with food days

Cons

A lot wrong at Aware as it’s a facade and the real culture is a “yes” toxic culture where if you say ‘yes’ you get valued, promoted and recognition. The core values they breathe are never followed i.e. lead bravely, care deeply. The people team care only for the organisation and are extremely rigid and unsupportive. The mid to senior-level managers, all buttering up their heads of, execs and constantly managing up. No regard for mental health and no regard for hardwork. Poor performance & mediocrity is rewarded where as loyal hardworking people cast away. They keep hiring from Link and the culture is toxic with back and side stabbing rampant. A lot of poor people leaders and promotions only occur within the leadership circuit which is already poor with a bunch of undeserving individuals. Aware also pays below market rate and there is no transparent with REMs and ranges. The recent employee surveys depict that no one feels appreciated, there is no growth opportunities and most will leave within 2 years. They use the word agile and nimble to promote a ‘yes’ culture but fail to see why someone might say no and such the belonging to Aware culture has been wiped clean. Those lazy, poor performers have learnt that all they need to do is pretend, suck up and they profit.
