Pros

• Exposure to high-pressure corporate environment (good for building patience/resilience) • Opportunity to observe organizational dynamics • Chance to interact with some technically skilled colleagues

Cons

Working here has been one of the toughest experiences of my career. If you are considering this company, please think carefully. Employees are treated more like slaves than professionals. There is zero respect, and favoritism and politics dominate the environment. Unless you are part of the “favored” circle, survival is almost impossible. The management has no boundaries. They constantly interfere in personal life — asking about marriage, baby planning, appearance, and even body weight. This is highly unprofessional and uncomfortable. The manager starts the day by scolding employees in front of everyone, with no constructive feedback or professionalism. Mistakes are met with public humiliation rather than guidance. Work-life balance does not exist. Official timings are meaningless — no one can leave at 5:30 PM. Most days, you’re expected to stay until 8:30 or 9 PM. If you leave on time, you’ll be judged. On top of that, they expect you to be available 24/7, even during sick leave or annual leave. Personal life simply doesn’t matter here. Terminations happen without prior notice, creating an environment of fear. Job security is almost non-existent. Some colleagues treat newcomers as outsiders or even enemies, and the manager shapes others’ opinions about you from day one. Fake smiles are expected, and you can’t be yourself. Only a few people in the team have a normal mentality, and even they are being targeted, so the team is steadily shrinking. Even during breaks for breakfast or lunch, you’ll get calls and messages demanding updates — you don’t get a single moment of peace. Growth opportunities are only given to favorites. Hard work and real contributions are ignored, while “pretending to work” is rewarded. The culture is toxic, disrespectful, and draining. BNC seems geared for unskilled people, but they have an exceptional skill in one thing: stupidity, ego, and politics. Overall, I understand the desperation many jobseekers face in the UAE, but honestly, being unemployed is better than enduring this environment.

Back to school, but with a salary

Pros

You do get exposure to a structured corporate environment and to the construction insudstry, which teaches you how to work under pressure. A few colleagues are genuinely nice and supportive, though the culture overall leans more toward people watching each other and reporting up than true teamwork. If nothing else, you’ll walk away with resilience and a better idea of what kind of workplace you don’t want in the future.

Cons

Working here feels less like being trusted as a professional and more like being back in school. Instead of focusing on the quality of work, management obsesses over whether you “look busy” enough. Targets change whenever they feel like it, without any consistency or, of course, a pay increase to match. Pay is low compared to the workload and expectations. Micromanagement is a daily routine, and the culture is extremely rigid and quiet, where people barely interact. The funniest (and most insulting) part is the idea that if you don’t hit their moving target, the solution is to come in on weekends, unpaid. They even expect you to exceed the official target on a regular basis, which makes it clear the issue isn’t performance but unrealistic demands. If an employee isn’t meeting expectations, the solution should be clearer communication, fair support, or structured feedback not taking away personal time. Punishing people with weekend work doesn’t fix the real problem, it just creates resentment. That says enough about how much they value “professionalism” over actual fairness. The truth is, if you’re looking for a place where results and respect matter more than appearances, this isn’t it.
