Pros

Benefits are decent although they’ve been whittling away at them over the last few years.

Cons

The number of middle management has increased dramatically, but not to the benefit of the employees or the business.

Decent Stepping Stone, Limited Managerial Support

Pros

- Small company allows for maximum impact from supported employees. - Reputation in MI market is strong. - Strong institutional memory from long-tenured employees. - High trust for WFH/Remote/Hybrid in most roles - Stated values are often lived out by rank-and-file

Cons

- Limited oversight from senior management - employee experience differers wildly across departments and teams. - Limited diversity - some uncomfortable scenarios with small-town customers, employees of color treated as limited or combative. - PE/VC investment - short-term profit over long-term stability. Rapid change is especially uncomfortable for lifers, company roadmap is not clear. - R&D too focused on new features vs bug fixes, standardization between modules. Some embarassing asymmetry demonstrated to customers. - Changes to benefits - more in-line with industry standards, but not worth salaries in some departments that are lower than average.

Pros

Can work from home 3 days a week and thats about it.

Cons

Where do I start. Serent capital ruined a good company when they bought in but that's par for the course with venture capital. BS&A hired a ton of middle and upper management without actually making the lives of its employees better, they just have more middle men with no real power to make decisions. They instituted metrics that their own numbers can't back up and they wont back down from it. If you have a team with 14 people on calls and average 150 calls per day, they expect you to close 16 cases per day. Do the math, it doesn't add up and they can't seem to wrap their heads around it. There are like 2 people of color in the entire company yet they talk about inclusion and diversity. Half of the company is related to each other because nepotism is rampant. They are already having AI start to replace staff and they are absolutely down sizing moving into 2026 and into the future. Another ex-employee posted on some other review site like this that BS&A was downsizing. The CEO sent out a company email trying to explain why letting people go isn't actually downsizing but just restructuring. (what ever you say pal) They are more concerned with the appearance of something rather than the truth. Don't expect to be helped by management with anything, employees have to figure out their own problems. Talking to the management team at BS&A is like talking to a wall, they are worse than politicians. I asked the CEO in a company wide meeting what their 5 to 10 year plan was, they told everyone they didn't have one. I swear this actually happened and in a public setting. This happened around 2024 but they never bothered to address it again.
