Pros

- Great team - Non judgemental (clothing choices, sexuality, piercings/tattoos, etc...) - Different departments (opportunities for new learning)

Cons

- Bad management (critical of work they never/very rarely participate in and have limited knowledge of) - Restrictive (hard to branch out once you've been selected by a team and become too valuable to lose) - Low pay (basically minimum wage) - Lack of future prospects (not many transferable skills outside of more QC work) - A puppet controlled by an often misinformed, non-caring puppeteer with too much power to pull the strings - Repetitive, often strenuous work with a false facade of workplace safety that often can't be implemented as this lowers work output and that is always number one priority - Those trained have all the power while those starting out have no say in anything and often are at the mercy of those above them

Pros

Co workers are lovely people. If it wasn't for them I would've left straight away. If your planning to come here, get your lab experience and leave straight away while you still have the chance.

Cons

salary is unsatisfactory considering you get penalty rates and level up within the years of working here. Once you reach level 3, good luck trying to progress to the next level. Even team leaders don't get enough money for what they deserve. Most lab managers are pretty good but Head Office management don't know how to organise this place properly. Also fair warning, this company is trying to find a new place as the land owner wishes to turn it into different property. Maybe in next two years they will move and it'll most likely be much more west side of Melbourne. Even more reason that this company is being tight on people's wages for such a high work load they do.

Pros

- The people who work here are among the best people I've worked with, everyone is friendly and gets along with each other for the most part. - The work itself is not bad. It is mostly easy, and if you're lucky enough to secure some training, then it's varied enough for you not go crazy on menial tasks. - Good job to get lab experience in. Although given a lot of places are looking for 2-3 years minimum, it's not really worth it to stick it out for that long.

Cons

- Work load is mostly unbearable. There never seem to be enough staff to cover even a regular days work in one shift. - Opportunity is hugely limited. Most of the time people only get promoted into someone's position after they have left. There is no focus on merit for promotion also. People are rarely promoted based on their experience within BVAQ and are seemingly picked at random. - Management sometimes tries to trick you into working above your pay grade by delegating tasks to you on a whim without considering your responsibilities and what level you are. - No focus on staff happiness. Management only care about the bottom line and don't put any effort into keeping their staff happy. The turnover and performance rate might improve if there was any incentive for people not to leave.
