Pros

Good salary and some of the people are nice.

Cons

They have convinced themselves that they are a big league player, they pay a good salary and offer a good annual bonus BUT: their market share continually shrinks because they are 100% risk averse and they are in a dwindling sector. Their environmental products are for coal fired plants, which are being discontinued, dismantled and not replaced. Think Titanic. The annual bonus that's part of your work agreement is a gimmick. Between 2005 - 2015 I think it was paid once or twice. Constant layoffs have reduced employees from 1,000 to less than 150 (!), and dwindling. Yet they think they are a competitor to companies that have 50,000 - 350,000 employees, cutting edge tech and deep pockets . Finally, to understand how they have no humanity, they SUE EMPLOYEES. Just look up the one court case they haven't been able to keep confidential - Babcock and Balles are the party names to the lawsuit. They lost and appealed and lost again.

Dead End Company

Pros

Decent Salary that is paid on time for now. Centrally located near highways. Onsite cafeteria.

Cons

This company is stuck in the 1960’s in a dying industry no less. If you would like to work at a place that is a synonym for inflexibility this is the place for you. Working from home and closing the office on snow days is only a thing of the future at this place. Management continues to grasp at straws by trying to “grab a larger share of a shrinking market”. The atmosphere here is a mix of people waiting to see who is going to get laid off next and a certain element of fat that could be trimmed but seemingly never will be. Many talented people have been laid off in the last few months and we are left to wonder if there is any future for this company whatsoever. We have to feel like the people who were let go were more productive than people who simply walk around all day shooting the breeze or camping out in the cafeteria at all hours of the day. Even the assistance for the current employees is lacking. Our HR department is often unresponsive, unhelpful and lacks knowledge to help employees with the day to day questions and help we require. It feels like they are trying to hasten attrition so there will be less people to lay off in the next round.

Pros

Salary is good. The office location is convenient.

Cons

It is so sad that this company quickly changed to an unbelievable low level of ethic and unprofessional company in recent years. Technical plagiarism is allowed by management. Get rid of employees who complained. Money was used to hire lawyers to contest the ex-employee's unemployment benefit claim instead of training current employees or approving R&D works for the bussiness development.
