Pros

- The other staff make the job feel much more worthwhile - Most of the time the managers and seniors members of staff are quite nice - A few managers are really nice and put effort into compensating for the others - There is an office dog - Early finish on a Friday (4.30pm) - Regular work with a routine to the work required - Variation in tasks so things don't have to be too repetitive

Cons

- Private, personal social media/online used out of work hours are monitored by management without staffs knowledge or consent. Action and reprimands are then taken based on information management gained doing this. - Highly, highly inappropriate mass emails are sent to the whole company by management, often very obviously aimed at a single member of staff, even going as far as literally telling staff members to leave. - Most issues with individual members of staff are not discussed with them directly but instead are sent to the whole company leaving the entire team anxious and trying to work out who it is about. - There is little to no opportunity for career progression with 'promotions' and increases in workload not coming with appropriate/proportional/any changes to pay. - The atmosphere can be quite oppressive, and management will do things like actively encourage the exclusion of certain members of staff by doing things like telling the rest of the team they don't want to hear anyone talk to that one staff member. - They have no respect for staffs personal situations and private lives, instead taking advantage of things like personal loss to bulldoze and manipulate staff. Going as far as to contact staff during things like a close family members funeral to avoid objections to changes. - When they don't want you to work there any more they change how they treat you until you leave. For example, they get people to repeat the same work in numerous slightly different ways, repeatedly changing their minds about how it should be done, only to then revert back to the way it was done in the first place and then hold that staff member responsible for the delays they caused. - There are numerous managers who all want opposing things, making it very hard to please one without annoying other. They do not discuss this with each other and instead blame staff for changes implemented by other managers. - The toilet situation is embarrassingly inadequate. - The company owners are also managing directors, meaning they are very aware of making choices between things like heating the building enough for the staff not to get chilblains vs buying a new car and as a result, cut a lot of corners on staff care and treatment - but do always have nice new cars. - Despite a part company owner being female, there is a slightly questionable attitude as to what is expected from female members of staff vs male - for example, there were a few occasions where the gents toilet was left in an unusable state and the female members of the team were expected to resolve it, and for years as a cost saving measure one if the women was cleaning out the ladies sanitary bin herself - this went on until the staff found out about it and insisted sanitary items were disposed of properly. - Laws around the workplace (safety, hygiene, staff treatment etc) aren't always met behind the scenes and staff may be expected to help conceal this.
