I worked at Bakers Delight full-time

    Pros

Great culture in day to day operations and great co-workers, generally get a lovely customer base, fantastic 'first job' opportunity, develop fantastic customer service skills and personal development.

    Cons

Seems to be a misunderstanding from upper level management to front-line staffer when it comes to ideal sales technique. Furthermore, campaignes are pretty much back to back, taking away any benefits a promotional campaign may have from it being 'special' or 'unique'

    Advice to Management

Put yourselves in front-line workers' shoes. Many sales techniques you push are unrealistic or disingenuous, you shouldn't try and increase individual sale values but you're customer base, remember the 80-20 rule and the sale value will take care of itself.

    Cons

Can become boring after working there for a while

I worked at Bakers Delight full-time

    Pros

The best part was when I left.

    Cons

Where do I start? No overtime pay, forced to work when sick, no annual leave/pay, no severance pay. Maximum work for less than minimum wage.

    Advice to Management

You don't know what you've got till it's gone.

I have been working at Bakers Delight part-time

    Pros

    Flexible hours for students
    Excellent team
    Easy to learn

    Cons

Since everyone is casual, it can be frustrating when you’re not getting enough hours

  6. "Paid like a permanent, given no leave or consistency with weekly hours like a casual, treated like a moron."

I worked at Bakers Delight part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Some opportunity for professional development, okay online training system.

    Cons

No support through management channels when dealing with workplace bullying, harassment and stealing. Bakeries frequently changed ownership and no paperwork, contracts or consistent rostering part of process. New POS systems are confusing, training inadequate, and management could not correctly use themselves. Constant Workplace Health and Safety infringements occur without report due to noncompliance with decade old procedures. High employee turn over rate.
