Pros

None. The merger destroyed a competitive business options. The FTC has allowed a Monopoly to poorly serve our communities within 100mile range.

Cons

The forced "merger" is actually à hostile takeover by Mountains States. Forcing nursing staff to accept pay cuts , benefit losses by May 24th or be forced to leave. Many left. Also, the other method used by Managers is any excuse for writing warnings to "force a being terminated for cause" for higher paid workers near retirement " is also a tool to cut jobs and not worry about retirement pensions. They are providing hiring in fresh graduate nursing staff at lower pay and dumping the higher paid staff that have been their for 5 to 30years. Car Dealerships treat their well trained, long term staff much better. Your automobile is getting much better care than any patient at Ballad

Pros

You'll gain real-world experience at spotting liars and sociopaths.

Cons

The company is a monopoly with no competition of any kind within a 200 mile radius. One nurse is supposed to treat 5 patient rooms for an entire shift!?!? The benefits and compensation at Ballad are horrible. Nurses are paid a subpar wage ($40K) to keep the multi-million executives in their cushy offices. Layoffs and reductions in workforce happen without regard to employee performance or tenure. Senior leadership constantly shoots the messenger and doesn't communicate with frontline employees. The Chairman/CEO can't tell the truth if his life depended upon it! Don't be fooled by this horse and pony show! This place is a horrible place to work.

Pros

I enjoyed my job with Wellmont, then Ballad took over and laid the RNs off

Cons

lay off, no communication, couldn't use my PTO prior to lay off, they now control the area so where do we go now? Got a job offer with Ballad after lay off for less than I was already making.
