Pros

Providing customers with solutions and great service. Some of the people are great when you get to know them. Excellent career opportunities

Cons

Majority of the team leaders are just awful bullies who look down on you from their high horse. Hiring managers who know very little to no banking experience make it hard for staff to approach them for answers. Very cliquey place to work in. Being promoted is about who you know not what you know. Housemates who live together, work together, sleep together, bully together. The culture is vile. Constant restructure, four team leaders in one year. Separating the "specialist teams" from the rest. No acknowledgment for efforts. No wonder such a high turnover. Culture up there needs to change! Get rid of the toxicity..unhappy staff = unhappy customer experience.

Pros

- Flexible working - Office location in the city is good

Cons

- I didn't pass my KPIs because I have depression. Completely true, this translated to a "sometimes meets" the Bankwest Values of which includes having a positive outlook. - Bullying in the workplace is totally ok if you do it with a smile. - Onus is put on the victims to try resolve it. - Rewards are not there for doing your job well. - Workplace politics are the only way ahead. Its a hard ingrained culture. - Managers don't know what's going on, there's no focus on material things - Below standard pay

Pros

Support for flexible working. Great location. Offices are nice and facilities are newish. Pay is ok for lower level roles. Work with some good people. Gender inclusive parental leave policy. Free fruit and (bad) coffee. Lunch breaks?

Cons

Pay is sub-par for specialist roles. Workload can be excessive. Poor risk culture. Tendency for upper leadership to ignore cultural issues or push the accountability back on the afflicted. Don't practice what they preach around professional development and "fun" working environment. Very political. Technology in use is outdated or not fit for purpose. Any dip in profits against projection means that staff benefits are the first to get axed. 'Bean counter' style spend management. New employees from "sexy" backgrounds (such as start ups) are given preferential treatment over tenured employees.
