This bank is a joke

Pros

It's a job. Other than that and the 401k match I can say that coworkers are generally friendly. If your banking knowledge is novice, you may want to work here to build your experience. Once you have a decent knowledge set you will want to leave. They can't keep experienced banking professionals.

Cons

Everything else. The bank has poor bank systems. Constantly getting emails that systems are down. Very sloppy communications between different lines of business. The bank is losing massive amounts of deposits. No opportunities for advancement. Scared to get rid of incompetence. Culture is depleting. This bank is for hill billies. If you do business in any real metropolitan city, you would not want to bring your business here. Executive Mgmt is totally disengaged. CEO is MIA 99% of the time

Management has lost their way

Recommend

Business outlook

Pros

Pockets of great people trying to do what is right

Cons

Culture has lost its way, no focus on what they want to be, all short-term decisions, no communication from management. Seems very apparent they are looking to boost earnings in preparation for a sale. Very little training, very little actually written down to find out how to do things on your own, you're just supposed to know or who to call to get an answer you hope is right. No systems talk with each other. Banks' needs are well past their core system's capabilities Management's tech knowledge and comfort prevents them from making decisions based on data, instead using old school gut feelings

Abusive manager

Recommend

Pros

Some employees were enjoyable to work with.

Cons

Abusive manager. Micro-managing supervisors. Experience and knowledge not valued. Promises made not kept. No one to turn to. HR or upper management. Blamed for problems that weren't created by me. Too many meetings and nothing accomplished.
