Pros

Staff camaraderie, colleagues make it more bearable.

Cons

Too much work pressure not balanced to the pay but I think that’s the reality of public sector work especially arms length organisation

Pros

Nice colleagues, access to training material on the intranet, working from home 2x a week.

Cons

Little to no real support for development and training. No autonomy; ridiculous culture of micromanagement and blaming junior staff; management lack accountability and are unwilling to listen to staff; management are rude and do not follow guidelines; staff seem lost and have no idea what they are doing; housing needs managers have poor attitudes towards clients and other councils; bullying culture of disabled and junior staff; condescending attitudes; and, generally, the barnet homes management walk a thin line between what is lawful and what is unlawful. I have contemplated whistleblowing. Worst job experience I have ever had and an extremely unserious organisation.
