Pros

Nice colleagues, access to training material on the intranet, working from home 2x a week.

Cons

Little to no real support for development and training. No autonomy; ridiculous culture of micromanagement and blaming junior staff; management lack accountability and are unwilling to listen to staff; management are rude and do not follow guidelines; staff seem lost and have no idea what they are doing; housing needs managers have poor attitudes towards clients and other councils; bullying culture of disabled and junior staff; condescending attitudes; and, generally, the barnet homes management walk a thin line between what is lawful and what is unlawful. I have contemplated whistleblowing. Worst job experience I have ever had and an extremely unserious organisation.

Pros

Staff camaraderie, colleagues make it more bearable.

Cons

Too much work pressure not balanced to the pay but I think that’s the reality of public sector work especially arms length organisation

Pros

Opportunities for career development, hybrid work arrangements.

Cons

Lack of support, the culture is very toxic and you will get thrown under the bus at any given opportunity. A lot of blame thrown around, and some people will borderline bully you
