Pros

Leaving the car park at home time

Cons

My experience at Barron McCann was deeply troubling due to the behavior of certain managers. Unfortunately, some members of the management team exhibited unprofessional and even petty conduct towards staff, which created a hostile and uncomfortable work environment. Instances of bullying and favoritism were not uncommon, and it was disheartening to witness colleagues being subjected to such treatment. This behavior eroded trust within the team and created a sense of fear and uncertainty among employees. It became clear that some managers were more interested in asserting their authority than in nurturing a collaborative and supportive work culture. Fingers are always pointed and solutions are rarely given to any issues. When I first joined, I was put off with the negative reviews in this website, now I can see why. The impact of such managerial behavior was significant, contributing to high turnover rates and an overall sense of discontent among the staff. It is my sincere hope that the company takes these issues seriously and works towards a more respectful and inclusive workplace, where employees can thrive without fear of mistreatment. Additionally, my attempts to seek support or raise concerns with the HR department were often met with disappointment. It was evident that there was a close relationship between HR and the managers, which left little room for impartiality. My concerns and issues were frequently brushed aside, and it was disheartening to feel that there was no reliable avenue for addressing workplace problems.

Pros

None other than Derby site is based in meteor centre.

Cons

Pay, Bonus is based on entire workshop peformance, little to no training from management on how to repair specific equipment based on their knowledge, the Manager isn't a nice person to talk. Only 3 people are allowed off at only one time when it was previously 6 and late shifts are 11:30am till 8pm when it originally was 10:00AM till 6:30pm. If your on probation your setup to fail as it's like the wild west to get equipment to repair when they want to do it themselves. When on a weekend shift you can't book sat or sunday off unless YOU are able to arrange cover. which isn't our job to do. They are not inclusive for those with disabilities or mental abilities. and expects perfection every time. You don't get holiday pay included in the monthly pay if you took time off during the month. Only get holiday pay when it's not been used on last payslip.

Hi, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to read that you weren't happy with your manager, you can always come to HR if you don't feel you can talk to your manager. The shifts were changed based on business requirements giving all impacted staff notice of the slightly later start and finish times. We are an Equal Opportunities company and will always look at reasonable adjustments to ensure that no one is left disadvantaged within the work place. All holiday is paid in the month unless it is taken after the payroll cut off and will then be paid in your next pay. I am sorry again that you have not been happy during your time here but if you would like to email HR@Barronmccann.com with feedback, we will address this for you.
